Re: TF Race Car Build
Not pretty, but now a single unit again. Ran out of resin, so couldn't put a layer around the joins on the inside. Made use of the bit I cut off the top/out side part of the neck and reused it with a bit of cutting and shutting for the back - happy with the result .

Re: TF Race Car Build
The plan, using tape I have created the shape I want for the top join to create a smooth join. Will do a single layer of mat, then one cut to desired dimension, draw round it, cut out the existing material of the intake curved area. Sit the first piece in the, with tape on the inside and then build ...

Re: TF Race Car Build
On a roll, airbox cut and bodge taped back together for test fit - bob on. Just got decide how to close up the holes to provide an nice smooth finish. I have an idea which will involve an old t shirt or cardboard and polyester resin.

Re: TF Race Car Build
So hole now bigger , and airbox on. Looking at it, I'm going to cut it where the white line is and rotate the end 180 degrees and re-join. The box is GRP so easy job.

Re: TF Race Car Build
Much swearing later and thankful someone cut a big hole in the bulkhead, the inlet manifold is off and the throttle bodies loosely fitted to start working out how to make it all work air intake wise. First observation - make hole bigger to allow Elise airbox to fit, so will be cutting the top rail o...

Re: AP racing calipers under standard wheels without spacers... pure madness!
More info for you Rob, these would be a cheap disc option, but to run the APs you would need 24mm not 22mm. But they would be fine for me with my HiSpec set up. Currently with 285 discs I need to use a 5mm spacer for Abingdons. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192787656610 https://www.facebook.com/jason.l...

Re: AP racing calipers under standard wheels without spacers... pure madness!
So Rob, I've been out and got a proper set of measurements. Did you measure the height from the wheel mounting face to the caliper?

Re: AP racing calipers under standard wheels without spacers... pure madness!
Any progress on this Rob? Want another set of wheels for the race car for wets (rain sports) and the only thing I can think of at a reasonable weight is Abingdons I don't think I will have the option of getting another set of 15" TD Pro Race 1.2s. How much of a clearance problem was there?

Re: TF Race Car Build
There's box section on the other side Rob, so I cut it like I have to retain the integrity of it and the spot welds. I may seem weld it a bit not sure. I'm also contemplating the cut at the bottom as well as per the above. Then cut out a section of he back of the boot behind the number plate area of...

Re: TF Race Car Build
Have angle grinder will use, should have done this much earlier rather than waiting now because I want to fit ITBs. Much improved heat management and access. Need to remover the header tank to finish off that side and get the flap wheel on to tidy up.

Re: TF Race Car Build
2020 has been quite a year hasn't it? Love this work - I've been giving this a lot of thought for my car too, although I am not allowed to "flat floor" the car under my class regulations (more's the pity). However, filling a few "holes" in the floor I think I could reasonably argue as being "reason...

Re: TF Race Car Build
It's been quite a while, short notice 6 month deployment and returning to lock downs. I have now finished the under tray and rear diffuser just needs a little more fettling before I'm happy.
