Re: mgf air intake scoops

As Rob says the n/s one can create more air to the pickup pipe but only if you have diverted your air feed there, if it's still in the engine bay, what's the point ? The o/s will serve no purpose at all as the needed air when the engine bay fan cuts in is drawn in by the motor so the ram air effect ...

Re: Heroes and villains and why I'm leaving you all...

Unfortunately as others will endorse, often buying a car shows up a reason for selling it, there's something wrong with it and they want to get rid of it rather than pay out. Donkey's years ago when I was a lad sawdust would be put in the differential to minimise the noise of worn bearings. Thicker ...

If it's just the tonneau cover you want Sergi then Martin Smith still has one in stock.

I've just bought one for a friend in Holland

+44 7722 175473 is Martin's number.

Because the cost of cars here is so cheap, they would be scrapped in the blink of an eye so these people are saving our car's heritage, well done to them all.

Re: mgf air intake scoops

Why would you want to ruin the classic lines and fit them ?, just my opinion of course.

I can't see any benefit or reason, sorry

They pull straight out but they are a tight fit and hard to grip, just persevere.

Re: Earliest production car on the road?

It's good to know our info is correct.

252 has not been taxed since June 2012 and there's nothing at all available on known registration plates for 253 and 254, maybe they're scrapped or exported.

So Phil, you need to get 256 on the road even if it's for MGF25 !

DanieleT wrote:Agreed Rob, I will still be playing around with pressures when mine returns. I would say that the standard pressure, especially for the rear, is not a good setting from my experience.
Think i may have to try the 28 all round approach now.
Danielle, not on a TF, please try 28F/34R

We will be going Col, it's one event we haven't done.

Andrew, obviously as an ex Essex boy you will have everything you need from us. Just let me know your plans and the MGF Register team will be there.

Re: MGF VVC tyre pressures

28/34 is the favourite amongst people I drive with, it appears to be popular with other members too. Give it a try, pressure them when cold of course.

Fitted BMW Angel Eyes headlamps, wired it differently by adding two extra relays so they go off when the headlights are on. Added an extra non ignition switch so I can flick them on and off when I want to. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f199/adrian9450/IMG_1025.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Earliest production car on the road?

That's quite common on early cars, many TF's have Rover MGF on it's body plate. You will find, thanks for looking, it's valuable info, the body plate either in the boot, adjacent to the aerial on a plate on the bulkhead. Lift the rubber gasket about 20 cm in from the aerial, pull forward the carpet ...

Re: Earliest production car on the road?

Hi Rob, not according to the DVLA, that one is showing SORN and no MoT since 10/2011, unless the DVLA is wrong ! If this is wrong Phil, please confirm via pm your number plate and I'll look again.

I have the registration and details but that is showing no tax since June 2012 and no MoT since 04/2011

Re: TF Tyres

Danielle, Malcolm is correct. I found exactly the same with 36 at the rear. I've used 28/34 for many years now and at Autobahn speeds over 110mph I can honestly take my hands off the wheels, it's a straight as an arrow.

Pressure when cold of course.

Re: Earliest production car on the road?

Phil, as Dieter says 000252 is the oldest car out in the open, so to speak. However it hasn't been taxed since 06/2012 and MoT since 04/2011. 000255 is Sorn'd and no MoT since 04/2013. The oldest car in the UK is 000276 taxed and MoT'd, so............. The oldest on the road, as far as I know becaus...

Galleywood was busy as usual last night, dry but chilly.

For Uxbridge we will meet at The Lodge to leave for 8am then call in to Tony's for 8.15 then A12 and M25 to Uxbridge. I have the entry passes for those that didn't collect theirs last night.
