Just spotted... alloy heater controls... nice!

Just flicking through eBay, you know, as you do, and came across these heater control knobs in a design I'd not seen before: http://i12.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/c5/53/74b8_1.JPG They're certainly very distinctive! Anyone here got them? What's the quality like? I am very happy with the BRM controls on my...

Re: MG METRO 2 & 4 POT Calipers

The answer to the original question "can I fit 4-pot Metro calipers to my F" is sadly no, you can't. The thought process is sound, as we all know that the MGF uses a number of Metro derived parts - in addition to raiding other parts of the Rover parts bin (most notably the R8 R200) - but the MG Metr...

Any Longbridge types able to tell us the true identity of the convertible that is not an F on the soft-top frame? :)

I think that I happen to have a couple of 'spares' that Tom asked me to sell on - 15 quid IIRC. If you want one, let me know :D

Re: You’re Opinion Counts

Very interesting list you've put together - I think that the MGF and TF score extremely well in each of these departments, and possibly helps explains the success of these models in the UK market place and beyond. My opinions? Seating position It is set too high IMO - but not critically though. I fi...

Re: FTF

I am really glad Tim decided to include this article in FTF - I don't think I agreed with anything he wrote either - but then I thought - wow - what an article for a club magazine! I bet this gets people talking. And it has ;) Let's face it, Roy's wrong - but I found it 'fun' thinking of all the rea...

Re: Styling Touches

That's a very interesting rear spoiler - and it does seem to be the same as that one on the eBay trader's site. One to add to the styling list I think! I have got a pair of their air intake ducts on my car (see attached image below), and the quality is reasonable (I had to polish the gel-coat finish...

Re: Testing hydrolastic displacers

I think Ralph reffers to *experiance*, cause it's almost that one that breaks. Whyever.   Yup, I agree with you Dieter - it's the one that always goes (they all do that sir! ;)) Why it's that one that fails, I have no idea - answers on a postcard to the usual address for that one. I...

Re: mgf remote boot release?

If I recall correctly, the Rover 800 had a key-lockable lever for the boot and fuel cap release. The key barrel is of the same type used on the MGF, so presumably it is possible to get a suitable lock for it that is the same as the one on your MG. This would be a lovely neat solution - but no idea w...

Re: Odd alarm problem

I'd tend to concur with Adrian Ralph - a fractured/chaffed wire is the most likely explanation, although why the alarm goes off with the bulb removed I am not sure... would have to look more carefully at the wiring diagrams to gain some more insight on that one...

Re: Which Tyres?

Yes there should be a length of screwed rod with a plastic turnwheel at one end. As far as I know there are two different lengths - MGF Trophy one is longer to accommodate the bigger wheels. I had the standard length one so had to extend it to fit the 17" spare wheel and tyre. You can get them from...

Re: HOw tos.

How good is the latest TF workshop manual, does it compare well with a Haynes manual? I have seen it advertised by various organisations, Rimmer seem to be the cheapest at the moment: £42.95with free delivery, does anyone know of a cheaper source? Yes - the MGF Register does! 8-) :thumbsu: Dr...

Re: MG Tuning?

For a couple of hundred quid, we're talking about a number of bolt-on goodies - which is the route I took for a good number of years, with results that have pleased me immensely. In order of fitment, I'd go: 1. K&N - can be worth other 8bhp if given an adequate cold air supply (Filter power tests: h...
