Re: Twin airbags
Interesting outcome then! I had the tested it the opposite way round. I remember trying a DCU on a Rover 75 that had optional curtain airbags, the donor DCU came from a car that had only the standard 4 airbags, turned the ignition on and the light was on. A T4 fault code read said something along t...

Re: Twin airbags
Update - Disconnected one side of the passenger airbag to test the ECU and no fault shown so as Rob correctly predicted it was not seeing the passenger airbag - obtained an ECU from a vehicle that had twin airbags and did the same test and fault shown so I am happy now all is working correctly. John...

Re: Squeaky rear after suspension pump up
Update - Greased the upper suspension arms as per service details but no improvement - started working around the suspension bushes finally tracked it down to the upper engine mount tie rod bushes - quick spray and that dam mouse is no longer in my ear - a pleasure to drive again.

Twin airbags
A quick question for the electrical folks - I had to change my airbag ecu as it was corrupt - I replaced it with a second hand unit and it cured my dash light fault - my question is does this unit need programming for my twin airbags as it came from a car with only one airbag - I have been told by a...

Squeaky rear after suspension pump up
Hi Folks - Had the wife's car pumped up as it was very low and a couple of day's later it developed a very annoying squeak from the rear end - If I push on the rear quarter it squeaks - I understand there are some grease points I can look at but is there any other common areas known for this that ma...

Re: Error on my registration details?
Did think about trying to get this resolved Rob but thought maybe it would be best to wait and deal with it if it ever becomes an issue - knowing goverment departments and the way they work I dont want to end up on a Q plate ! The funny thing is the vehicle was supplied direct from the factory to an...

Re: Rough idle *SOLVED*
Just an update for anyone who may be trawling through the misfire posts as I have done - the fault was due to the O2 sensor (Lambda) - As correctly suggested by Fts- Found as I had to change my exhaust manifold due to it firing the end of the sensor through the casing !

Re: Hole in exhaust manifold
Well stripped it down today - bit of a pig to get at some of the bolts - it does indeed seem like the sensor has 'exploded' and the end which is loose has shot through the manifold wall - the photo's show the tip of the sensor and the hole - the sensor is bolted in from the other side : http://i920....

Hole in exhaust manifold
My exhaust started blowing today so had a good look around to find the cause - having recently replaced the cat and rear box I suspected the flexi pipe which i knew the joint wasn't the best - finally found the fault was a small round hole in the exhaust manifold it'self - the hole is opposite the l...

Re: Heated rear screen
Hi -Have recently done this conversion and apart from the relay and switch you may also need the wire that connects the tabs on the heated screen to the MGF wiring - there are two sets of wire avalible on e-bay - one is for the hardtop where both the heated screen tabs are on the same side of the gl...

Re: Tonneau cover
Thanks Rob - It does indeed seem to be the foam coming out the seams - wondering if its heat related as I keep them stored the boot - will have to see if it is feasible to reline them as suggested. Thought this might affect a lot of people because both mine do it .
