Re: Stainless Coolant pipes
Ahh so much from a single word, awful. I was referring mostly to the wresting match I generally have in removing such OEM clamps, not to the sealing or leakage; but you raise an important point. I will certainly agree with you there. The locally available specialty hose clamp plies are of fair qual...

Re: Stainless Coolant pipes
Also look at the hose clamps, if it's still got the awful OEM hose clamps the pipes may be original. I can't agree at all with that statement, the OEM clamps are excellent. You never have to worry about the constant tension hose clamps that the OEMs use being too tight or not tight enough. And the ...

Re: Tail lights - is this after market still available somewhere?
I have the Xpart rear light covers and and they fit very well. Using the light fitting studs works well because you leave the original nut in place and just add another nut once the light cover is fitted to hold it in place.

Re: Air Con Pipe
If you were careful when cutting the original pipe, you may be able to repair it with a compression fitting union. Best take it to an aircon specialist who will either repair the pipe or make-up a replacement.

Re: Inlet manifold
... are replacing it with an alloy one as they are less prone to leaking as they don't warp. The issue with the plastic inlet manifold and coolant leaks is more so related to the inlet manifold gasket becoming hard, shrinking and leaking coolant as a result, not due to warping. Best to change in th...

Re: Baffling. PAS on, then off. Pull 70 AMP fuse out and in. PAS back
A friend had a similar problem to what you described and discovered that the issue was with the EPAS control unit, which is located on the passenger side behind the airbag (or where it would be, depending if your F has a passenger air bag or not).

Re: Gravity exhaust
My wife's F came with a Daytona and it sounds awesome! The only reason I didn't fit one to my F what the overall price by the time it would have been on my doorstep here in Canada. I fitted a Phoenix system to my F, bought it from Rimmer Bros. It sounds really nice and doesn't drone at highway speed...

I've welding in new captive nuts, mainly due to the original captive nuts breaking free when I went to centre punch the remainder of the original bolts.

Re: MGF Starter Motor
The terminals on the new battery might have had a very thin layer of oxidation and the cable's connectors were not completely clean. The two together may have provided all the resistance needed to only get a click from the solenoid.

Re: Undoing n/s front box section/ crash can bolt
I've undo that bolt on both of our Fs (both with a/c) without an issue, although it took a long time. I'd suggest getting your hands on a ratchet that has finer (more) teeth in the ratcheting mechanism.

Re: MGF Amaranth WANTED.
No - the spoiler was never sold on any Mk1 MGF except for the special editions - specifically, the Wedgewood Blue SE, the Freestyle SE and the Trophy 160SE. But this spoiler was available from around 1998/1999 as an optional extra or dealer fit option - and many were supplied and fitted on this bas...
