The FCCKit has camber adjustment built into it at the upper ball joint.
I ended up with a bit of scope creep as well when I did the install.

Re: front suspension upper link bolt
I will agree that the instructions leave something to be desired. It should be suggested that dropping the subframe will make the install easier. I did find at the back that dropping the subframe did make the install easier, although I only dropped one side at a time.

I'm sure the next three corners will go faster...I hope.
If our experience with two installs is anything to go by, the effort will be worth it.

Re: Resto project: N7
The paint job looks great. I've been told that there being three shades of the same colour is quite normal due to variations in the paint mix during production according to the guy that has done all the paint work on our amaranth and flame red Fs. This also explains why I saw an amaranth F with thre...

I think the same Bloke must have owned my wife's F at one time, I've had the same issues.

Re: Leak into boot
There's lots of places that it could be leaking from but many would have manifested long before now. If it is a recent problem, then my first guess would the the seals around the lights. Talcum powder is a great suggestion, I used this method to find leaks on my wife's F this past summer and I found...

Re: front suspension upper link bolt
No, you don't have to drop the front subframe to get that fulcrum shaft out. You do have to remove the subframe longitudinal member, which does require removing the front bumper.
I've installed two of Mike Satur's FCCKits, so if I can be of any help, just send me an email.

Re: Hydragas regassing (again)
No ABS on either of our Fs but the kit comes with an ABS bracket. At the front, I installed the new turret first and then the upper control arm, then the shock/spring assembly. Getting the shock/spring assembly in is not easy, although I believe his latest version of the kit has fixed this issue. It...

Re: Hydragas regassing (again)
My wife and I are very happy with Mike Satur's coil spring conversion in our two F. Fortunately I was able to install the conversion, which kept the cost down. I did discover that all the subframe mounts needed replacing, the rubber portion was flexing excessively. Both cars now have solid TF subfra...

Re: Hydragas regassing (again)
I really liked the idea of keeping the hydragas suspension, the ride and handling of the hydrgas is great. The downside of having the spheres regassed is that you do not know the condition of the top rubber diaphragm. The internal part of the top rivet is very sharp and if the nitrogen level in the ...

Re: Hydragas regassing (again)
I went the Mike Satur route on both of our Fs and I am more than happy with the results. Every bit as nice a ride as hydragas and the handling is is as good as the hydrgas as well. The reason I went this route was so I would never have to worry about leaking spheres again.

The oil top up tube and the dip stick share the same tube into the sump. Did you wipe off the dip stick and then check the level?

There's nothing in the US that can read the early MGFs. I bought the pscan a few years ago and it has proven to be an excellent diagnostic tool, which is also able to code a new key fob too!

Re: Testing the fuel pump
The fuel pump in my wife's car was giving issues last year. I bought a replacement pump only through MGOC Spares (Replacement fuel pump units are not available for the very early Fs). I did find that the original seal at the top had to be replaced, was very soft. I ended up making a tool to remove t...

Re: How many left - MGF
To my knowledge, there are over 70 MGFs in Canada already, as well as a handful of TFs. Most came over when the cars were worth a few hundred pounds. Both of ours were bought for a bit over £400.
You'll be happy to know that there are at least 10 MGFs in BC.
