To the best of my knowledge, outside the dealership network, pscan represents the only way to reset the service indicator. I have a ELM327 Bluetooth reader. It is in the MG6 so will be with me over the weekend. They are cheap and cheerful and helped me diagnose the sensor failure I had just over 12 months ago.

Was it OK before you went in for the MOT?
If it came on during the MOT, it could have been too many revs without the car moving. The 'fail safe' turns off the power steering (light on) if the car is not moving forward with high revs. Should reset itself on next switch on, if this is the case.
