Re: Standard TF Suspension Settings
Just to throw one in, what are ideal geo settings for a race car?
I really like the way my trophy handles is there any reason I can't use trophy settings on a TF on coilovers?
Cheers

Re: TF Race Car Build
Not much to report, fitted the ignition, low brake fluid and full beam warning lights to the dash. Lightened the boot lid, tried to remove rear bumper - fell out with the 'crush can' on the N/S and then the bolt in the inside of the boot sheared off on the off side, but eventually got the bumper off...

Re: TF Race Car Build
Back in the workshop this afternoon, just as I was about to weld the new mounting brackets for the fuse box on the welder decided to break. The arm the clamps the wire to the feed roller broke - but in true RAF fashion I bodged a fix and got it to work sufficiently to tack the brackets on . http:/...

Re: TF Race Car Build
Don't feel like I've achieved a lot today. Spent the afternoon sat down with the instrument loom and wiring diagrams trying to decifer some of the colours were a nightmare. Anyway paired it down and labeled all the wires so I could wire up the new dash. Added an oil pressure gauge and started wiring...

Re: TF Race Car Build
Not much to report, I've been working my way through the loom removing parts no longer reqd - heater, EPAS etc. I'm trying to relocate the fuse box as well, as I'm not happy with it hanging down near my right leg. http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x330/flyingbanana_gt/mg%20tf%20race%20car/20151124...

Re: TF Race Car Build
Productive afternoon in the workshop today. Finished removing the drivers side floor bracing to allow me to mount the seat lower. I will weld a stiffener plate into the void created in the centre 'tunnel' to add rigidity to that section. I wish I'd used spotweld drill bits years ago. http://i1176.ph...

Re: TF Spring rate and ride height
Hi Rob,
I don't suppose you know what ride height the cup cars ran? Those spring rates are a lot lower than the xpower ones aren't they. I will drop Dan Surridge a message and see what he runs.

TF Spring rate and ride height
OK, so I'm looking at what springs to get for the race car, my other problem is what is the ideal ride height for a race car. I will be using protech coilovers.
So any advice on springs and ride heights greatly appreciated.

You can try either: http://www.honeybournemouldings.co.uk/mgfhardtops.htm or http://www.moto-build.com/mgfparts.html I managed to pick up a honey bourne mouldings one from ebay for £160, but I believe it will need slight modifaction to fit around the B pillar upright of the roll cage. Will find out ...
