Re: N/S inner driveshaft gaitor

OK, am having a 'mare with this. I bought the kit as above but things are not going to plan. Bit of background.... I tried to swap in-situ which all went well until trying to secure to new boot to the new cup? which sits on the outside of the diff. No chance, the metal belt point blank refused to pl...

Re: OBD Socket (and details of MGF technical day - June 15th

After what I saw today I was "in" no question! So that's 16 needed, hope the second demo of the day went well for the Rover boys to buy in too..... I was really surprised there were 6 faults logged already when the android/torque app failed to show a single one! This was of course confirmed as accur...

Re: OBD Socket (and details of MGF technical day - June 15th

I will be there with our TF.
I believe Purplebargeken will be there in his VVC.

I'm quite eager to see what plans there are for the software....

Re: Our Solar Red TF160

Hi Rob, yes I think they were 25's but with lots of MG goodies bolted on.. It was the VVC actuator or Hydraulic Control Unit as some call it, causing the leak. Looks like it's started leaking again so I guess silicone is only a temp fix. Have bought the full 'O' ring kit from Rimmers so will try a D...

WANTED -N/S Driveshaft with ABS ring

Hi All, I'm after a N/S driveshaft for my 160TF in good condition, I believe they are all the same as long as they have ABS? Have had several bad experiences with ebay when buying second hand parts such as this so hence the ad. I can collect from Herts/Essex/Beds/N. London. Or ever better would be a...

Re: Hi - New MGF Owner

Hi and welcome We had Dan and James drop by to do full service and timing belts on both ours and Purplebargeken's car only a couple of weeks ago. http://www.mgfregister.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=135931#p135931 A genuinely nice bloke is Dan, he doesn't mind the odd question whilst he works either. Hi...

Re: Technical and social day - testing out new diagnostic ki

First or second week of June sits well for me.
Weekends are reasonably easy.
Week nights are usually possible with about a weeks notice.

What sort of location are we thinking about here?
Herts, Essex, London or Other?

Fob programmer for EKA and new fobs?
Hmmm, sounds better by the minute :P

Re: N/S inner driveshaft gaitor

Thanks for your words of wisdom chaps.
Full joint ordered from that eBay link (same price as gaitor only!!)
Fingers crossed for the non driveshaft nut out method, I'd never even considered this was possible!

Will keep you posted on progress.

Re: Our Solar Red TF160

The oil leak was quite severe and not the camshaft seals as reported previously. It was a leak from the VVC mechanism. This meant partial lowering of the engine for loosening, cleaning and automotive siliconing of the plates. Looks like the leak has stopped but will be sometime until we can get all ...

Our Solar Red TF160

So I thought I'd make a thread about our TF. It all started here.... http://www.mgfregister.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=17365 Moving on, I did an MGoT Taster Day at North Weald. That was a real hoot! http://www.mgfregister.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=17701 We then decided it would be a good ide...

N/S inner driveshaft gaitor

Hey all, I need to change the inner driveshaft gaitor on the nearside of my TF. It looks reasonably straight forward, all parts including new hub nut etc. are available from Rimmers. Only question really is will the driveshaft need dismantling or could I use a cone or spreader to get the gaitor on? ...

Re: MGoT North Weald Today

Hi Nigel, Thanks for your input. This really was a fantastic day today and all I can say is I wished I'd joined the party sooner! Several of the guys I met have expressed their interest at doing another one. Full trackdays are certainly on my agenda after a second go at a taster. I think I'm registe...
