[img].......I’m sure I could use hog rings to attach,......
When I've changed seat covers I have substituted metal hog rings with 2mm cable ties.

I would try looking at suppliers of parts for classic car restorers.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Sorry to read about your father in law.

To achieve the best price start advertising around Easter.
The run up to Christmas is the worst time to sell any car.

Good luck with your sale.

But a V6 is more drivable than I heavily boosted turbo in real world driving.

Re: Speedo and odometer not working - MGF 1996

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It is either the speedo, the cable or the sender...

Early cars had a 2 section cable, later ones had 3 sections.

Re: High level brake light

As above, one or more of the cables in the loom by the boot hinge will have failed, possibly hidden inside its PVC cover.

........ The nut for the hinge had caught the wire and snapped it.
Usually the wires fail as the plastic outer goes brittle so doesn't flex when the boot is opened.

Re: MGF lowering in nz!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Are there any original mini specialists in NZ? As the hydragas suspension is similar to hydralastic found on minis they might be able to help.

Pondering this in my sleep, I wonder if any other MG Rover steering wheel would be smaller...
No, owners of other MG/Rover models use TF wheels to get a smaller wheel.
The same size wheel was used on late Rover Minis.

Re: Fluctuating temperature gaugue

I would start by reading live data via OBD.
This will give you what the coolant is doing.
If this reading fluctuates then it is a coolant problem.
If this data is steady then it's a sensor problem.

The sensor for the dash gauge only has one pin.

Re: ? Lower Speedo cable on MGF Mk1 same as a MK2

As per Geoff - the mk2 doesn't have a cable. There are 2 versions of the cable, very early have only 2 sections and the rest have 3 sections. It is possible to make a new end section from a good middle. Start by measuring the longer one and mark where you will cut it. (IIRC it is 1280mm but don't qu...
