Catalytic convertor
Hi all -I think my cat has become defective / noisy - just wondered if anyone has any experience of the cheaper ones on e-bay - my worry is do they pass the emission levels etc or I am I better of paying more for a oem part - your thoughts greatly recieved -Marty

Blue mgf R REG - about 4.30 om A14 northants - pulled off at jn 13 Thrapston - I was in my other car Vauxhall insignia and pulled off at the same junction rather close to your bumper sorry !!!

Thanks Mykel - Looks like a mod I may do in the future if only to have the coil packs in a more sensible place - in the mean time I'm looking forward to shreading my arms !

This is indeed the reason for me going to fit a MEMS3 rocker cover with the top mounted coil packs, there's just two very short ht cables left and the original coil packs "down south" can be removed. Had a quick look at this while waiting for the parts to arrive - seems my old halfords spark plug spanner from my mark 3 cortina days won't fit so time to get a long reach thin one ps who the heck put the coil pack in the most inaccessible place they could think of !! - Guess its best to jack it up ...

Hi does anyone have a spare plastic spark plug cover that screws onto the rocker cover that they want to sell me- Mine is slightly damaged due to an over tightened screw - Regards Marty

Mykel - no other issues with the idle speed just the cold start issue mentioned - Hope to try and get at the HT cables tomorrow - sounds as if it will be a bit tricky to reach !
