A-Plan weren't able to get even close to the Peter Best deal - but then that is a little unfair: the car is now on a classic-car insurance deal rather than a road car one. Will contact A-Plan again next year... who knows? Maybe they will want my custom by then

Should be relatively easy to tell - a leaking heater box as Stan suggests - is a common affliction and readily solved. Ensure that you use high tensile bolts - stainless steel is not an ideal material as it's brittle and could break under the shear loads.

Better check on teh Mercedes fluid - just to confirm its constituents. If a methylated spirit/glycol mix, it'll probably be fine. Could be water pump - that end of the engine is certainly soaked. Also, the point of water exit would be pretty obscured if this were the case. Pop off the cam cover - the point of water exit may well then reveal itself.

Final up date on this thread - fitted the newly modified rear hydragas sphere on Saturday. Second time doing the job, and it only took me about 2.5 hours, so getting faster I think! :lol: Sphere is in and pressurised, and the car is sitting nice and level. Job done.
