Re: DAB radio

It'll be an amp then, the screen aerial supplies DAB, the standard one for the FM.

On my ZS I used the standard aerial and a splitter to avaoid the screen aerial, most of the time it holds the signal.

Is it a pre-amp or a DAB splitter?

Re: srs light staying on

Hi and welcome.

To get a pass remove the bulb.

To find the fault visit you local non franchise MG, rover or Land rover garage and ask them to plug it in to Testbook.

Re: Roll hoop and harness

Only some hoops are structural.

I guess the SRS light will come on if you remove seat belt pre-tensioners.

1998 is about when MG moved from a sportster to a classic hood, i.e seems along the car to seems across the car.

Re: mg rover aerosol

There are plenty of firms up and down the country who supply the car body shop trade - armed with the paint code they will mix you the paint in a few minutes, they'll even put it an aerosol for you. However if your paint is badly faded the only way you will get a match is to compare a colour chart t...

The sealant looks quite generous but if it was my car I'd probably not worry.

Re: Shiny Stuff on Ebay

I think "I'm sure if you're looking at these you know what they are," sums them up, ECU would need replacing with an after market unit and you'd be looking at other major mods such as exhaust and engine blue printing.

Re: VVC engines

There are several differences including a move from a 48mm plastic to 52mm metal throttle body, more sensor inputs from exhaust and inlet manifold, a different map and I think a slight change in valve size. The injectors are different as well. As an added incentive to get the later version is the ab...

Re: VVC engines

All VVC's are 1.8, however there are 2 power outputs, later ones found in the Trophy F and the TF160 are 160bhp, have plain inlet manifolds, run MEMS 3 and have 2 lambda probes in the exhaust, these engines are also found in the ZR160. The 200 V engine will be the earlier 143bhp as found in mk1 F's,...

Give it a few drives of being good to drive and you'll forget that it looks good low.

Sadly my suspension failed the last time I drove it so now the passenger side is on the arches.

Where did you get it pumped?

Re: My F project

I do like that, especially now you swapped from silly rear spoiler (says he who has 2 ZS180 saloons) to the trophy front spoiler, bet the handling has improved dramatically.
