Re: NSF ride height low post pothole
Hi Mike, As standard, the MGF suspension units are interconnected front to rear. If there is insufficient fluid, the whole side will drop. A single wheel being at a different ride height to the other three units does, to me at least, suggest an internal failure of the NSF hydragas unit - as Charles ...

Re: MG TF Fails to start
I've not come across the engine temperature sender causing a hot start problem on an MGF/TF before. A bit odd - a temperature sender issue usually gives a high idle when the engine is warm along with excess fuel consumption, as the ECU "thinks" the engine is still cold, and it essentially doing the ...

Late to this thread, but love this - particularly as it retains the standard head unit for original looks!

Re: WANTED - MGF Momo leather gearknob
This one looks to be the same, brand new, but will need the H-pattern sticker to replace the "MOMO" logo if you want the genuine look: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295936988628?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1V3M7r8l3TkGZ6qETBAfLlw63&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=10...

Re: MGF STYLING
Which style are you looking to purchase Stew? Mike Satur responds best to a telephone call. I suspect that RPS may be the same :) Good news that RPS are still responding to queries, but I think they're winding down (unless they've found a buyer for the whole business?) No update on their website sin...

Re: electric window problems
Both my windows dont work. I’ve checked the pull out fuses and all are ok. What are the other fuses and could it be one of the yellow relay fuses This could be many things - and the options may depend on how they failed (did they both suddenly stop working together) and the age of the car, as there...

Re: seats
Just to agree with the above. The SRS is plug and play - it won't retain a fault when disconnected and reconnected. Seat removal is all pretty straightforward :) I don't think I have fitting instructions for the seats on my website, but this page on making a "universal" mounting for aftermarket seat...

Re: Wiper motor
Make sure that the underbonnet lining goes over the motor. Geoff F +1 on what Geoff says. You probably don't need to work out why I know  BTW, you can fit a later TF wiper motor to an MGF, but you have to remove the plugs from both, and fit the MGF plug to the TF wiper harness. I have done th...

Re: MG TF Fails to start
Hi David - interesting that the hot idle speed is too low - I wonder whether the idle control valve is sticking? It may need replacing if so, but potentially may respond to a good clean in carb or brake cleaner?

An air leak may be? But brilliant that it is running once again
Are you planning to take it to a rolling road soon?

Re: TF tracking, take the correct settings with you.
By the looks of things, they've got mixed units on this report: mm for toe-angle and degrees/minutes for camber/trust angle. Really confusing way to present the data.
Does your TF have an adjustable lower suspension arm?

Re: MGF STYLING
It looked good didn't it? Not sure is the answer - I don't recall seeing it on their stand at Silverstone either. Again, Chris at Anglia Composites will have an inside line on information about this: it may be waiting for a new owner of the rights to these moulds to take over and productionise them?

Re: TF tracking, take the correct settings with you.
2 degrees is MASSIVE. Toe angles at the rear are two tenths of a degree - how could a professional really look at 2 degrees of toe and think that that is "okay" just because a computer says so? Glad you found the problem, but this place you have used needs to be given a very wide berth in fut...

No, the erratic idle probably is not related to the emissions problems that have been documented. Ockham's razor suggests that the two should be linked, but a car can have as many problems as it likes...

From memory, both cables follow one another, but will need to check!!!
Also, it would be good to replace the closing plate, as without it, you'll get engine bay fumes entering the cabin (ask me how I know )

Re: Intermittent Engine hunting & p0420
It could indeed, you're right Mike - a failed ring and bore scoring may be the issue. I have a hunch that you will end up lifting the cylinder head to really get to grips with what is going on here - and of course, once into the engine, you will be in a good position to make the suitable repairs.
