I'll think about it...I've heard £70 is going to be near the price of Mr Saturs new hydragas solution though so I think I'm more likely to wait for that before seriously considering further performance mods

Re: MGF Mod Plans and Prices

Is that what they are? If so that's just more reason to try and get one, once the F is a bit more fixed perhaps...I am holding off buying anything further until the new hydragas solution from Mike is out, hopefully it'll be relatively soon

Re: For Sale: K&N 57i Induction Air Filter - £69

Yeah it's definitely a good price, I've been thinking about an enclosed set up but am trying to do something with the 160 airbox and a panel filter DIY but it's not been as straightforward as I envisioned so I'll have a think about a K&N for the meantime

Re: MGF Mod Plans and Prices

Yeah I've read that OEM is far better than Aftermarket, thank goodness then that the cat I have is an OE one that came with my backbox, both second hand but I'm hoping the Cat will last a fair while, god knows why my factory one has died at less than 60K - my guess is the IMG leak causing it to run ...

Re: 52mm throttle body

Ah right... do all f's have plastic throttle bodies then? my 96VCC F has a metal throttle body... so would thay be 48 or 52mm? Some did have metal 48mm ones I I remember correctly they swapped them to plastic the same time as the manifold changed, I presume, it's around somewhere I recall reading a...

Re: cant select 1st, 2nd or reverse gear

Hi Hugh, does the gear stick move more freely one way than the other I.e side to side or front to back? I recently got stuck in first due to a snapped gear cable but my stick went all loose on the side to side movement so if the gearstick is moving as you'd expect I wouldn't know I'm afraid

Re: Recharging spheres Tecnosir

Having spoke to Mike recently (on the phone) he said the re gassing solution will be self sealing and no welding required, he hinted that 1st August he will release this product. It should be, drill 8mm hole and screw in his valve, then pump it up with nitrogen to 17 Bar (I think that's the pressur...

Re: MGF Mod Plans and Prices

I do have the post cat sensor and as far as I can tell it is connected up to the loom and fully functioning :) well actually I know for a fact it is as I keep getting the code come up from it due to my cat being nothing but dust and rattles Oh lovely, not that my heart is set on a decat, and I'll ha...

Re: MGF Mod Plans and Prices

A 2000 MGF on MEMS3? Interesting - it would have been MEMS1.9 originally wouldn't it? MEMS3 is something of an advantage in terms of tuning. Although you've got smaller/lower flow injectors as standard (improves emissions), the unit can be remapped to whatever stage of development you might fancy! ...

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?

Also what's the price? I'd rather pay £15 and fiddle than pay like £40 for a cubby box, I'm young and poor To be honest can't remember but it will be closer to the £40 for sure. You would have to cut a hole in the back of the ZR ones as they are too deep and foul the cross member. So it would not b...

Re: MGF Mod Plans and Prices

IMHO the F does not benefit from a de-cat, apart from more noise. Due to the short nature of the exhaust it needs the cat to produce some back pressure. Also worth noting that only the F and the metro/100 K series cars do not also have a pre-cat, all other K series have a pre-cat and a main cat, bo...

Re: MGF Mod Plans and Prices

I've currently got a cat to replace with a tf backbox, but at some point I'm going to get a sports exhaust of sorts, from what I've read recently though the decat is rather loud with a decent exhaust so I may just save myself the £30 and put it towards a nice exhaust instead 8-)

Re: MGF Mod Plans and Prices

I've decided to update this with just a general list of what I have actually done to date as it has not quite followed the above. So to date I have had to; Change Slave and Master Clutch cylinder rubbers Replace coolant pipe closest to the exhaust manifold due to a split as well as fitting exhaust m...

Re: Loss of Power.

All sounds very odd, I don't suppose it could be anything to do with needing to reset the throttle position sensor or a clogged Idle air control valve? Sounds like it's worse than the symptoms of those things but you seem to have tried everything else Is your throttle cable caught on anything, is it...
