Live data issue on early MEMS1.9 now FIXED

Some of you will have encountered problems with accessing live data when the engine is running, if you have MEMS1.9 on a very early MGF.

We now have a fix for this.

Re: Steering fault light

If you have a pscan.eu unit you can upgrade the software now and try it out.

Re: T4 Diagnostics

I have seen coolant temp sensors which are good when cold or warm and then fail as they get hot. The one inside the automatic transmission of my 607 does that, and I have had the coolant one do the same. I'm not saying it is that, but you need to drive it until it fails and then look at live data to...

Re: Steering fault light

I managed to test the EPAS protocol and it seems to work well. http://www.pscan.eu/features/screenshots/epaslivedata.png http://www.pscan.eu/features/screenshots/epascodes.png I did the thing of revving the engine for 30 seconds to make the warning light come on. Interestingly erasing the code would...

Re: please help steptronic fault

Is the idle speed correct when it's warm? I have seen a few cars with air leaks which will idle okay when cold but as they warm the idle stepper goes to zero and then cannot close any more, which means that the ECU looses control of the idle. On our diagnostic tool the interesting parameters are "st...

Re: please help steptronic fault

where roughly in "east Anglia" are you?

pscan.eu will talk the engine ECU but it does not yet do the gearbox. One day it will though and hopefully not too long.

Re: WET WET WET - carpets that is & which diagnostic kit

Good, because I just paid £75 for it. I don't have an EMS2000 either so two birds with one stone.

Will try my best. If anyone has any spare fobs (with bar code) that they can lend me..... I assume that the fob will not know that it is being programmed into a different Pektron.

Can anyone confirm that this is a Pektron SCU?

Re: MPi stalling

Hi Charles,

Send me the old broken ECU. I can power it up on the bench and see why pscan.eu didn't read those codes.

Re: Steptronics

The cheapest thing would be for someone to lend me a MEMS3 auto ECU. I will only need it for a week or two, and I won't damage it.

Re: Steptronics

I have a Rover 45 automatic ECU here. I think that all 25/45 were MEMS3. The MEMS2J was only used in the Rover 200 BRM. I also have what I think is a Rover 45 MEMS3 ECU. The VIN number in the ECU is SARRTMWBBYD497115. The trouble is that I think that this is from a manual one. Is it possible to get ...

Re: Steptronics

I am struggling a bit with this. The problem is wiring diagrams. The ECU that I have has UHC100400 written on it. For added pain some Freelander and 75 wiring diagrams refer to ECU connector C0932 although these have a Jatco gearbox and therefore totally different ECU. I have a ZS picture showing pi...

Re: WET WET WET - carpets that is & which diagnostic kit

The only thing preventing me from doing the Pektron unit is access to a vehicle. Someone in Greenwich offered me access to their car but I don't remember who and now I can't find the post. Really I could do with someone a bit closer, I am in Ruislip near M25/J16.

Re: Steering fault light

The EPAS protocol is done, I am just struggling to test it on an actual car. I could go over to Rob's place but that will cost me at least 2 hours which I just don't have this weekend.

Re: Steptronics

Last week I bought a Rover 45 automatic ECU. Are these the same gearbox and electronics as the MGF? If anyone has a wiring diagram which shows how to wire up this ECU it would be much appreciated. Hopefully the protocol is the same and so once I have it working for the Rover 45 ECU it will also work...

Re: Steering fault light

I am long overdue with the Epas protocol; in fact I am starting to feel guilty as it is a broken promise. I am pretty sure that it will be possible to make amends by releasing the software for it by the end of this week.
