Probably worth mentioning that the Wings Museum does not take card payments. Cost is £8 per adult cash only.

We were only going to go on this DID if the weather as good and as it looked like being completely pants at bedtime yesterday we decided at that time not to attend. However, after Amanda had dragged the dogs around their normal walk this morning she arrived back in good spirits and the weather was pretty good...sunny and although threatening it didn't seem to us to be coming to more than a shower or two. So much for the BBC weather forecast! So..a quick "shall we?" and a "but I have to wash my hair" - Amanda...."well I should scrape my face first" - me.... "no time..oh bugger it let's just go.." - both of us...we decided to leap in Ellie and meet everyone..albeit a little later than planned. We even chanced it and lowered the hood.

Not having met any of you guys before it was a bit of a punt on our part as to what it would be like..but a full English out on a Sunday was a definite attraction...no cooking..no washing up and the possibility of meeting a few local-ish like minded (T)F nuts was an equal pull...Wasn't sure about the Wings Museum thing..which actually turned out to be quite interesting but only for about 30mins or so..There are only so many bent pieces of metal you can muse upon before embarrassed boredom sets in.

I bought Ellie (2009 LE500) last August when I decided to sell my bikes and up/down grade to something a tad more civilised..A quick test drive in my step son's prospective TF purchase and I was sold..Amanda was a definite convert..well she would be, wouldn't she?..a convertible with A/C..blimey! how decadent can you get? Harks back to the time when we had a 289 and toured all over doing tulips and race circuits etc...but without the seemingly many wet episodes sheltering under motorway bridges trying to assemble the tent like erection excuse for a hood. Happy days.

Anyway, it was great to meet those of you who we did..The drive down and back was pleasantly green and wiggly with overtones of bright sun and grey sky. The breakfast was tasty and good value and those we were fortunate enough to chat to were welcoming, pleasant and verging on the normal. So John, David, Ron, Tim, Paul?..etc in no particular order..and those whose names we can't remember..It was nice to meet you and assuming we didn't manage to offend anyone we will be attending again...maybe next time we'll actually arrive at the right place and on time..although to be fair we weren't alone...!

Thank you.../David :D
