I quite enjoyed the queue last year - lots of classics and it made the cover of FasTForward !

We can move the meeting time forward a bit if you like so that we leave Ockham at 10am instead of arriving there for that time ?

Thanks Paul, we're all meeting for our Christmas dinner this Saturday, hopefully I'll have an idea then.

River Wey has burst its banks, anyone know if Brooklands has been flooded ? If so, it may be worth updating this topic to see if the event is still being held .

This is what the Brooklands website has currently:

Flooding update - 26th December 1pm
Brooklands Museum has experienced flooding overnight and as a result we are delaying our reopening after Christmas until at least Monday 30th December. At this stage we hope to be open in at least a limited way from then on, including for New Year’s Day, but we ask intending visitors to check this website for updates. Our switchboard is not working but we can handle essential calls on 01932 855465.

Yes it is flooded at the moment ..I was down yesterday and it is pretty much a lake with a Clubhouse in the middle. We are hoping to be open again on Monday pending any further downpours and will be checking any damage once the waters recede a bit. Further updates later on......

Latest update is that the waters have gone down now and staff and volunteers are starting the clean up. The aim is to open again on Monday hopefully and be fully open by New Years Day. There isn't too much muddy stuff around so it's mainly a question of mopping, brushing and disinfecting. The vulnerable exhibits were moved on Christmas Day and the Napier Railton and Babs taken elsewhere - the rest of the cars were jacked up above the water level. The water didn't get to the Hangar, London Bus museum or the Aircraft Park so they are all fine.

So we are still on for New Years Day ....meet up at 0930 at Ockham Bites aiming to be at Brooklands at 10am.
