Anyone ordered an LE500 ?

Post by TimM » Wed Aug 06, 2008 8:50 am

Having had a look at the finished LE500s at MGFest they seem like a bit of a bargain so I'm wondering if any South East person has actually ordered one ? MAC MG reckon that most have now been sold so someone must be buying them !

I know soneone who's ordered a white one but not from Wales, this is 1 of only 25 of this color produced, one of the new Dealers in Cardiff i'm told are feeling very peed off with Longbridge as they are hearing absolutely nothing from them and they just don't know whether to do the new refurb of extra and new showroom for the new stock if indeed any are coming or not, what a mess for them, why do they not keep in touch with the dealers and keep them up to date bleeding beats me,very bad business seems they havent a clue, launch news should be this week but ot heard anything by media yet,Dave

There was a press release last week saying that production had restarted again at longbridge however having spoken to some dealers they all seem to be in a similar boat with lack of defiinite info. Mind you I believe they have a really nice mechanic/dealer training facitlity hidden inside an old warehouse so they like to be secretive !

So that's one accoutned for - any one esle know of any ?

Whilst on our Lollop last weekend Apple reckoned they had sold their orange one straight away and Crawley Down had sold four leaving them with a red one , blue one and black one still to sell.

So who has purchased one of these then ? Are you here ?

Incidentally the Register has had it's first owner joining and he's the proud owner of a Crystal White LE500 abnd lives in Wembley which is pretty close to our "patch" .

Yes they were saying much the same thing when we visited on the Lollop. That one didn't have a number plate when we visited on the launch weekend. Nice to see it's got a personal plate though !.

SoI reckon it's a Mark 5 MGF ?

Mk1 (The original) 95 - 99
Mk2 (2000MY facelift) 99 - 2001
Mk3 (TF) 2002 - 2005
Mk4 (2005MY facelift) 2005
Mk5 (NAC TF) 2008

That was more or less my thinking, but I am not sure whether the NAC TF can be classed as a Mk5 considering that apart from build quality it isn't really much different to the Mk4?????

Will found this in the pit lane over the weekend at the formula Ford Festival
at brands Hatch!

Is from apple, had a senior BRSCC (British Racing & Sports Car Club) officer/clerk or something like that in it! so I will be seen lots of it next year!
will have to keep an eye to find out who it is!

Ah that was probably the orange one in the showroom at Apple on launch day then. The new owner just walked in and wrote a cheque a couple of days before ! I guess he's called Ted !

Hi Murray, two very nice cars you have. Welcome to the MGF Register, and I look forward to seeing your LE500 at one of our events soon! Perhaps you could come along to our Christmas natter - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2214

Hi Murray - glad my directions worked and you found the board ! Welcome to the South East patch and you certainly have a nice pair of white cars there. Looking forward to seeing the LE on the Winter Warmer Run in a couple of weeks time - hopefully Graham will have managed to work the route out by then. :D

For those that may not get FasTForward - Murray was the first person to register an LE500 with the MGF Register with his beautiful Crystal White car - actually on the launch day !

There are only 499!

Just been speaking to someone at MG, Longbridge, and heard the sad tale of one owner who wrote off his LE500 just 7 days after purchase. Didn't even make it to the end of October.
