September Evening Meet - Thu 25th

The sun is shining so I thought it would be good to venture further into rural Surrey for our next evening meet as its bound to be still sunny then so how about the Surrey Oaks at Newdigate. For those that came on the 5th Anniversary Route of the Raj it's the pub we briefly stopped in for an apertif before heading for the Raj itself.

Should be easier for Graham and Marty and anyone on the Sussex borders to get to as well and will give us northern Surrey types a run into the countryside

They serve fairly basic bar meals by the look of it and there is a restaurant. We'll aim to get there for about 8pm as usual.

We had a lovely weekend down here Neil - I expect you need that coat up there.

Anyhow our next evening meet is fast approaching - grub and Pub at the Surrey Oaks, Newdigate - we're aiming to get there by 8pm so we can have some nibble. This is a CAMRA pub of the year so well worth a visit and a longer stay than we managed last time we were over this way.

So how's about it - much closer to Sussex if anyone is down that way - not far from Crawley - must be some new faces over that way ?

We had a lovely weekend down here Neil - I expect you need that coat up there.

I had good weather at the weekend, mainly 'cos I wasn't in Scotland !!

At long last the F crossed the border late Sunday afternoon.....

PLeased to see the F has gone northwards now but sad to see it leave the South East enclave.

At least you'll be able to zap around some great countryside up there on the odd day the sun does shine !

As for us back in the South East - the Surrey oaks is at RH5 5DZ. It's not actually in Newdigate so don't be put off when it guides you beyond the village !

I have double booked myself, I have to work, not sure when I'll finish - all depends how well it goes - Provided I finish before 10pm I'll pop along to the Surrey Oaks on my way home. I'll even take the F into work so that I can arrive in the right car!

Great to see a good turn out at the Surrey Arms - Welcome to new member Robin and his fantastic modified amaranth F (we couldn't fully appreciate it in the dark so we'll have to see it in daylight soon I think !), also to MArty and Andy who came along to their first evening meet in the twin yellow Trophy 160's.

Hope you managed to get home OK David with out getting one of Paul's tyres roll into your lap !

Hopefully we'll see you all again soon - looks like we'll have to arrange some more meets in that area for the winter period.

Very nice Marty - that was at Parham a couple of weeks ago. I can top trump you there by heading back into the mists of time .....well five years anway to 2003 and the Summer Gathering at Penshurst Place ......Spot the differences Robin .....by the way it is on our database so if you register it from the www.mgfregister.org website we should be able to update it's new ownership.

We were turfing out some old videos tonight and browsing through some old home movies found one from Brooklands MG Day in 2001 and guess what....yes WGS was there parked up on the banking three cars along from JayPeG !!! Small world.
