Fawley Hill Run - 8th September

Fawley Hill is the private steam collection of the late Sir William McAlpine and houses a complete station, full size steam railway in the grounds with rides in open wagons! There is a museum, carousel and lots of strange items dotted about. It is well worth a visit and there will be several car clubs visiting on the day we are there as well. It is only open a few days a year to selected clubs.

We'll probably do a run in to Fawley which is near Henley on Thames from Runnymede - yet to sort that bit out.

There is a donation of £10 per person to the trust which will be payable in advance to me and then I forward it all on to the museum to help them keep it running.

So at this stage I need to know who is going and the list begins......

The message stays in the outbox until it is actually read, so all this means is Tim has not read it yet. When he does, it will go into your sent folder.

I've reworked the route so it is not quite as going around in circles as it was at first!

Meet up at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds around 10am, we'll aim to be away by 10.30am. TW20 0AE.

This is the main bit and NOT the NT bit at the Windsor end.

There is a cafe here so if you want to arrive a bit earlier and have a bacon roll or cup of tea then they can provide!

The route is just under 30 miles and will be on larger roads at the beginning and then smaller ones including some single track as we get closer to Henley.

We can arrive from 11.30am but Fawley Hill is not open until noon.

There are limited cafe facilities at Fawley so you might want to bring a picnic which we can have in the parking field before going down.

Don't forget to print off the other bits of information particularly the invitation which you will need to fill in to give to Fawley marshals on arrival.
