South East MGF/TF go to Weymouth 29th May to 1st June 2020

Hello!

We have decided to visit the Dorset coast in May 2020 for a long weekend, and have arranged accommodation at the Crown Hotel, Weymouth for three nights. The cost for the three nights b&b is £260 per room for a double or twin, and £135 for a single. Parking is an extra, and there are a few spaces in the hotel grounds at £4 per night, or nearby with a scratch card also £4 per night. We can take dinner at the hotel, or visit local fish and chip shops at the harbour - we can decide later!

We are arranging run-outs on the Saturday and Sunday. This will probably include visits to Swanage and the steam railway, travelling on to Corfe Castle; and a coastal route finishing in Seaton, with breaks during the trips at local eating establishments!

What's the process for booking the hotel and parking? Do we wait for you to confirm the event is going ahead? Or do we book the hotel ourselves straightaway.

Hi Keith & Liz!

Pleased that you will be able to join us in Weymouth. The hotel is booked, so nothing to do. Parking can be fixed when we get there. I have been able to get 5 spaces within the hotel ground, and so we will need to get you a space nearby.

Nearer the trip, I'll suggest a meeting place where we can travel in convoy down to Weymouth.

Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event due to the virus. I have been able to cancel all of the hotel rooms that were booked without charge; so let's hope that we can think about this trip later in the year or in 2021.
