Natter in Bexley, Kent
I've posted in MGRover.org, a suggested Sunday lunch natter.
http://forums.mg-rover.org/forumdisplay ... ne=30&f=42
Sunday 18th November, 11am here......
http://www.bexleyheritagetrust.org.uk/h ... index.html
The House is closed atm for restoration, but the shop, gardens and nursery are open.
There is a Beefeater restaurant on site.
It's open to all MG owners........well, anybody with a love of MG's really.
If anyone from the register is interested, please do come along for a natter and a bite to eat.

I quite fancy that. That would be my first MG meet.

Hehehe........it's the first time I've tried to organise one too........hope I don't fall flat on my face!!transforce wrote:I quite fancy that. That would be my first MG meet.
However, if only 3 or 4 come, I'll be happy with that as a first time.
You're a lot further away than I'd anticipated anyone coming, but do come if you can.
Went to the venue this morning to check on it. The cafe looks ok, with tables outside if it's warm enough. Meals at the pub start at £7.50 I think. Large carpark, but it gets busy............

When I were a kid I used to go fishing in the stream there.

We had a good natter over coffee and bacon butties.
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Why do people say' I'm up for that' then don't come??
Me crawls back into hole.

By all normal standards you had a fair % turnout! So don't despair and I am only sorry I/we could not attend BUT then we did not say we would because we have experience of the same thing BUT we kept at it for ten years - last Treffen was almost two years ago see:- http://www.tednewman.me.uk/2006Overview.htm

Re: Natter in Bexley, Kent
Thanks for that GS. Originaly, I did say I'd be happy with 3, so I guess I can't complain. It was intended for 'local' MG owners, yet the two who came travelled some distance. I plan to do it again.......maybe late Jan.Green Squirrel wrote:PetePete C wrote:Well, me and two turned upPete C wrote:Possible ten attendees atm, assorted vehicles. Any more for a natter??

Re: Natter in Bexley, Kent
Don't worry Pete - you get used to that as I found out many years ago !
Evening meets are not too popular in the South East which is why I gave them up for a couple of years until reactivating them again this year. Our attendances have varied considerably from our lowest of three to around nine or ten.
I'll probably run some more in 2008 but dot them about a bit more - hoepfully we'll get a better summer next year as I think that was a major factor in low turnouts.

I'm one who cannot make evening meets, because I have to get up early. Sunday lunch seemed a good bet.

Drat! I was thinking about coming along to this, but it slipped my mind. Let me know if you do another as Bexley isn't too far for me.
