Brooklands New Years Day Classic Car Meet

Post by TimM » Thu Dec 17, 2009 7:26 pm

I havn't put the date as it's fairly obvious !

Several of you have expressed an interest in coming along this year so we'll meet up in the woods at Ockham Common by the Ockham Bites cafe just off the M25/A3 junction. (Our usual place). If anyone doesn't know it then let me know !

We'll then have a massive run in to Brooklands to join the hundreds of other classic, vintage and veteran cars (around 2 miles). 2009's meet was really good so lets hope the weather is right for it again this year.

Meet up about 10.30am.

Remember the only way you can get to park on site in a post 1973 car is by being a club member - which is where we come in ! If not then you're ejected to the public parking areas !

Who's coming then ?

Excellent Colin. We'll probably stay at Brooklands this year and sample the delights of the Club Bar !! Chips arrive on a plate and not in an espresso cup !

Ockham Bites is easy - just come off the M25 at junction 10 and head towards Guiildford. AS you go up the slip road on to the A3 you'll see a turning on the left BEFORE you join the main carriageway. Turn in here and then turn immediately left into the woodland car park - Ockham Bites !

Fingers crossed todays rain won't reappear !

Forecasting Sleet.....

Anyway, hope you all have a good time - I'll be driving back from Devon, hopefully most other people will be staying the weekend keeping the roads relatively traffic free!

There was a sprinkling of snow in the morning but then the sun came out and it was one of those lovely cold but sunny days.

great to meet everyone in the woods at Ockham for the mammoth run in to Brooklands - Had to keep below 50mph so the Y type could keep up !

8 F/TFs , a B and a Y type - what better way to start the New Year !!

Here's a couple of pics of the F contingent at Brooklands

Bad luck Paul for being a bit of a stick in the mud !! (2nd applicant for Maddest Moment 2010 !)
