Do you fancy doing the September meet a tad further north? Maybe a bit closer to Wotton under edge or Dursley? IT would be great to meet the locals especially ahead of Castle Coombe at the end of October but Mayshill would be a logistical nightmare to get to for a reasonable time on a weekday unless anyone fancies a Saturday morning social at some point around then?

Hi, it's worth considering, but we do have regulars coming up from the Plymouth Region of Devon, we are at Mayshill all evening so can't be too difficult to get to? 8-)

Back in one of the original threads here when discussing where to meet, I made the point that the core group of Cotswoldians tend be be in the south western corner of the region. Whilst meeting in this area is also good for visitors from afar, we don't want to preclude those from further north or east, so perhaps we should also explore the possibility of other venues?

That said, I've no bright ideas, other than possibly Hunters Hall at Kingscote on the A4135, which sort of falls in RSR92's geographic suggestion, but I haven't visited for several years now so have no idea of standards and quality etc. Anyhow, as I shall be away at the back end of August and then again in September, it may be academic from my perspective!

Hope to catch up with everyone again as summer turns to autumn..... ;)

Colin...if you'll be about all evening then that's no problem, depending what shift I'm working as if I'm on a 6:30 finish by the time I do my faffing and pick the Mrs up that'll be 8ish before we arrive!

I do see a lot of MG F's and TF's around the Gloucestershire area lately, I know there is an O/C that meets at the Gala club in Gloucester every other Thursday I think...it's £10 annual membership so it may be worth joining and seeing if any of them are on the Register forum and if not to get them set up so we can maybe have a nice big meeting at some point between Glos and Bristol somewhere :) as I say I mainly want to touch base before Castle Coombe.

As Mike says food is a large portion of the choice of venue, very important is good fare :P

One of the really good things about The New Inn is that the food is Very very good

Happy to listen to suggestions, but wouldn't want to lose regulars as a result of moving further North. Maybe 2 a month is the answer? 8-)

Exactly and that really is a deciding factor!

Well that depends on everyone's bank balance I guess! I myself am not particularly solvent, but Mayshill isn't a problem I shall just hope that when I get my rota for that month that the Tuesday in question is an earlier finish :)

Worth a mention just for future reference is that the Bell in Tewkesbury does great food, the only issue being a distinct lack of parking :( although there is a pay and display car park over the road by Tewkesbury Abbey which is a lovely building. Maybe a Saturday Brunch is in order although I must say their fish and chips has been beautiful both times I've eaten there :D

Would it be an idea to have a meet in the heart of the Cotswolds occasionally.Maybe we can get some other members to join us.

I'd definitely be game every month or two, there is plenty of good eating to be had around here, some very nice country pubs out in the villages certainly :D

That'll be me then :) , but I'm not sure there are any others.

It's the Gloucestershire MGOC that meet at the Gala Club in Gloucester - they meet on the second Thursday every month except December. A very active club with lots going on eg Sunday lunches during winter months and evening runs during the summer, lots of visits and group trips etc both UK and abroad. Although I'm a member I'm probably only as active with them as the with MGCC :) (If you want any further info or details, pm me).

We could meet at The Highwayman on the A417 between Cirencester and Gloucester. Cannot vouch for food but they have ample parking. Surely its cars not food which is important.

Oh I haven't been there since I was but a wee bairn, I'd certainly be interested in a night there...the cars certainly are that main attraction but what man isn't led in part by his stomach?

Mike - oh yes that's it the second Tuesday. Once the main work on my car is done I'll probably join up but for now that £10 has new inlet manifold gasket written all over it :D
