Road Trip North

Post by rustyinn » Thu Oct 23, 2014 10:41 am

I'm planning to head north in May 2015 for the MGFreedom Highlander event - in the Scottish Borders (I know, contradiction) if any else fancies a jaunt. would be great to have company for the run north.

Cheers

It's 8/9/10 May (& 10/11 to if you want to make a long weekend of it).

I went along for one of the days this year and they were a great crowd and quite a few from northern England seem to go along every year.

Very relaxed and friendly (and well organised).

Just what you'd expect really!

That would explain why my hunt for details on the board was fruitless......

If i can persuade my dear wife who i know loves Peebles count me in, work permitting! IIRC there is/was/used to be an award winning butchers shop who sold excellent pies :-) plus there are some fabulous roads around that area. Having lived near Newcastle before moving down south and now residing in Essex that was one of my favourite places to drive to.

Be happy to head east and hook up with you somewhere for the drive north if you were going Malcolm.

Hi Dave have spoken to SWMBO and she is in agreement that this will be a good weekend. I have got the contact details of the hotel ao will give them a ring tomorrow and see how the land lies. As for the drive up we can plan that and meet centrally to both but more than likely will be easier to go (unfortunately) up the M6 until just past Carlisle then take A and B roads to Peebles :-)

For speed the M6 probably is ... unfortunately. My cars can probably drive that on their own we've done it so often.

I've booked in at the hotel (Fri/Sat nights atm) to so all set.
