" The trial will start at 9.15 am from The Lanes Hotel, West Coker, Dorset, 2miles to the west of Yeovil on the A30(MR 194 518137) and finish at the end of the last section Hell Ladder Lane(MR 183/647320) in the late afternoon. The Lanes Hotel is also the venue for our annual informal diner. We have negotiated a very good deal with the hotel for the whole weekend, which includes bed and breakfast for the Friday and Saturday nights and dinner for Saturday night. Please book your accommodation and meals direct with the hotel. Details will be found on the entry form. We also hope that, as usual, local members, family and friends and competitors not staying at the hotel will join us for the Saturday dinner in which case please book your dinners through the entry form.

The trial includes mostly familiar sections and as ever, the route will take you along approximately 80 miles of charming rural lanes with splendid views. The sections and the special tests provide that competitive spice beloved of all true MG drivers, yet remain suitable for all cars whether concours or “well used”. In addition to classes for all types of MG and similar pre-war sports cars, there is a class, with its own award, for non-MG’s.

As last year we have striven to provide a route that is non-damaging for all cars. We believe that we have been able to provide an event similar to that enjoyed by the competitors in the first “Kimber Trial” in 1937. Then Clubmen drove to the event in their everyday cars, mainly MG Midgets and expected them to still be available for work on Monday morning.

On the morning of Sunday 8th April there will be a social gathering at Rocke’s Barn, Butleigh, the home of Hamish McNinch and Barry Foster who have kindly agreed to host this. "

There's a few of us going along to the start of this and then taking in a few of the special stages.
The more the merrier. Come along to a great gathering :)

Wow, even the sun came out this afternoon, much to our amazement!
We skipped the morning due to heavy rain and went straight to the lunch stop and had a great catch up with old friends. Found out today that MG Racing legend Barry Foster has a lovely F as well, as that what he turned up at the lunch stop in :)
