Brian Griffin

Post by TimM » Tue Jan 08, 2008 1:39 pm

It is with sadness that we have received the news that Brian Griffin passed away after a short illness on the 5th January.

Brian played an instrumental part in the development of the MGF as a senior engineer on the project. His work was commemorated at the Heritage Motor Centre for MGF10 in 2005 when he sat on a panel along with Rob Oldaker and Adrian Guyll answering your questions. The Register gave Brian and the others special plaques for their work on the MGF. We have seen him at various shows selling his range of X Power items with his family over the last couple of years where he was always willing to stop and have a chat about his time with MGR. For those older amongst you you may remember Brian's father , Charles Griffin, who was the Chief Engineer for Austin-Morris also working at Longbridge developing the 1100 and Princess amongst others, it was very much a case of like father, like son in the Griffin family.

The register has passed on it's condolences to his wife , Marion, son ,Jim, and the rest of the family on behalf of the membership.

This picture shows Brian when we last saw him in the sunshine enjoying a cup of tea at MGFest07.
