MG Day Brooklands - 8th April

Post by TimM » Thu Mar 29, 2012 11:26 am

MG Era Day at Brooklands is on Sunday 8th April. There is always a good turn out of F/TFs and the club will be there as well. This year there is a special award for the best MGTF to mark the 10th Anniversary
so get your polishing clioths out and come down to Brooklands. Entry is via the Campbell gate off Brooklands Road and will be marked as "MGs only" so if you are in an MG please DO NOT follow the brown signs as they will direct you to the other car parks!

Standard entry prices will apply (£10 per adult) or FREE if you are a Brooklands Trust Member !

Here's the blurb from the Museum:-
" MG Era
Sunday, April 8, 2012

All MGs are welcome at this annual event, which will include displays in and around the Paddock, Test Hill and a Concours d’Elegance. This year we will be celebrating 50 years of the MGB and MG1100, 80 years of the J2, 65 years of the Y Type and 10 years of the MGTF. There will be Special Awards for the Best in Class for these cars, with an award for Car of Show, pre-war and post-war. Weather permitting, we will have Test Hill in action, with a cavalcade, live jazz and a BBQ.

Timings are as follows:
1.30pm Test Hill
2.30pm Presentation of Concours prizes
3pm Cavalcade

MGs should enter the Museum site via the Campbell Gate off Brooklands Road; public parking will be in The Heights off Wellington Way - please look out for event signage. Normal Museum entry prices apply and we will be open from 10am.

No we don't normally do a run in for this one as we are usually already there setting up the gazebo etc. It's pretty much a turn up and enjoy the day event

Yes we''ll see you ther - there's usually quite a lot of F/TFs at this event and we should have a bit of extra parking where Concorde used to be if all goes to plan this year !

Hi all

Really sorry that I couldn't be there today, would love to have met all those that I have chatted to over these last few months. I was all ready to recruit new members for the thames valley region!! Hope those who went had a great day, and I look forward to the next event.

I love the MG Day at Brooklands. It's great catching up with friends you've not seen for ages and ages, as well as those last seen not that long ago 8-)
