Saturday 12th April 2008 Pride of Longbridge Rally 3
The Pride of Longbridge Rally remembers all those workers made redundant at Longbridge on 15th April 2005 as the administrators reduced the workforce from 6,500 to a couple of hundred. Arrangements are well underway organising the Pride of Longbridge rally on 12th April 2008, the nearest Saturday to the anniversary of the Longbridge workforce being made redundant on 15th April 2005.
For the third year RCAT (The Rover Community Action Trust) are organising the ‘POL’ Rally to make sure that the good work at Longbridge is not forgotten. We hope that you, and your club members, will join us.
The rally will commence again at Hopwood Park Services at Junction 2 on the M42, followed, as in previous years, by a run past the old factory site allowing us to see the ever-changing face of the factory site and pay our respects.
We hope that the rally will encourage you to being out your Austin and Longbridge built cars and those who worked at the Factory will join us to see the products they built.
We will depart from Hopwood Park Services at 11:30 am on 12th April for Cofton Park where we will gather opposite the factory. All being well there well there will be caters on site to feed us this year!
Hope to see you there!
