Welcome to the Lincolnshire stage of the 'Whizz Kidz' Hardtop Rally, Part 2. By Chris & Kerry Cook
After our visit to the Ferry Boat, we called in at our Local Community Centre at Washingborough. Next stop, to Lincoln itself. Below we have some great pictures from our amazing Cathedral. Followed by a visit to Lincoln Castle, which is just across the square from the Cathedral.

The Lincoln tour has now moved onto 'Bailgate'. The selection of photo's below includes Steep Hill, which was recently voted the best street in the UK. Tomorrow I will swapping the hardtop again with Dave Stonehouse at Cadwell Park Race Circuit.

Re: HARD TOP RELAY LIVE BLOG, CADWELL PARK, LINCOLNSHIRE
Welcome to the Lincolnshire stage of the 'Whizz Kidz' Hardtop Rally, Part 4. By Chris & Kerry Cook
Hard Top handover at Cadwell Park Race Circuit near Louth, Lincolnshire. Cadwell Park is one the countries best motorcycle tracks and is one of the most popular destinations in the MCE Insurance British Super Bike calender. Below is David Stonehouse on the left and myself, Chris Cook on the right. Officially handing over the hardtop on the Cadwell Rostrum. Finally I would just like to say what a privilege it has been to be part of this rally and hope it raises alot of money for the 'Whizz Kidz' charity.
The next leg of the hardtop's journey through Lincolnshire is to visit, 'Just Jane', the Lancaster Bomber at East Kirkby. I'm looking forward to seeing some of those photo's.

Re: HARD TOP RELAY LIVE BLOG
I collected the hardtop from Chris at Cadwell Park to the sounds of a bike track day in full action. Just fantastic!
Then a jaunt through the Lincolnshire countryside to East Kirkby to the Lincolnshire Aviaition Heritage Centre for a photo shoot with "Just Jane" the Lancaster Bomber via Fulletby and Scrivelsby. The contrast between the bright sunshine and the twilight of the hangar was too much for my photo skills but here are the best of the efforts.
Then off to Coningsby to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight but unfortunately personnel were limited today so whilst they offered me a photo with the BBMF Spitfire the car was not permitted.
So then off to Woodhall Spa - the home of the Dam Busters Memorial and the famous Kinema In the woods. Then off to Spilsby to ensure that intrepid adventurer Sir John Franklin becomes part of the hard top relay story.

Re: HARD TOP RELAY LIVE BLOG
Looking forward to the handover from Paul and doing my part of the WhizzKidz' hardtop relay, from Hampdon Court Palace to the final stop of 'Brooklands', I have a print out of the Olympic cycle route that covered this part of my journey, my co-driver Damien (meet with damien) will have his camera handy, and knowing him there will be some great photos, and of course Dave (church Square Autos) our sponser of the Hardtop, will be in one of the Racing Reds...and remember the Hardtop will be up for Sale, with proceeds going to 'the 'WhizzKidz' charity.

Re: HARD TOP RELAY LIVE BLOG
I'm sorry for the delay in putting up my Hardtop Relay blog, I do apologise.
David Stonehouse delivers the hardtop to me at dusk on Monday 3rd September.
That evening I take a trip to the point where the Meridian Line passes close to Frampton Marsh near Boston, Lincolnshire.
Tuesday 4th September, bright & early I head off to the 'Practical Classics' workshop, close to Stamford, this is where the 'real' work is done on a classic car magazine!
An ideal opportunity for a photo, with left to right- Danny Hopkins (editor), Keith Moody (assistant editor), myself (tea maker & gofer) & Neil Campbell (senior staff writer), I went around afterwards vigouressly shaking the collection tin, and yes they did dig down deep and give!!!
I'm sorry I couldn't visit more places, but work commitments wouldn't allow it.
After arriving home in the evening the hardtop was handed over to Vicki & Geoff Edge so it could wend its way further around the UK.
Regards
John Simpson.

Re: HARD TOP RELAY LIVE BLOG
We collected the hardtop from John Simpson at 7.30pm on Tuesday 4th Sept, then it was off to Graves Park, the home of Boston Classic Car Club.
That was it for us for the moment as this was a brief transit phase for us to hand over first thing in the morning.

Re: HARD TOP RELAY LIVE BLOG
Bright and early on Wednesday morning we were at the Admiral Nelson pub in Benington just outside Boston, which is the meeting place for the Lincolnshire MGF/TF Register.
Then it was handover time to Len and Sue Hartley for their morning drive out.

Re: HARD TOP RELAY LIVE BLOG
Dave and I off to Brown & Gammons in a few hours to collect it from Geoff and Vicki, we only have it for a short time so it won't be able to see too much of Essex but we'll see what we can do, we've both taken time off from work to concentrate on this.
At first light tomorrow it's off to London for some Olympic sites and well know tourist spots before being handed over to Andrew Watson to take it to Brooklands for the end of the planned tour. Andrew has then kindly agreed to bring it back to Essex where it begins it's European leg on Friday when it goes to France, Belgium, Holland and Germany on Mykel's Neiderheim Tour where, it's hoped everybody will take part and all 14 drivers will swop the hard top and take it for a drive.
Hoping for a good amount of cash to help the charity from this weekend. I'm also hoping to have it covered by the Car Club magazines in Belgium, Holland and Germany too.

Re: HARD TOP RELAY LIVE BLOG
Wednesday 5th Sept and Geoff and Vicki Edge collected the hardtop from Sheila Laurence at the Sibsey Trader Mill.
Then, seeing as we were in Boston, it was a short flight across to New York.
From there it was across country to the East Coast, stopping off at Gunby Hall on the way.
