There do seem to be a lot of Johnnie Come Latelys nominating 2005 as their first events. Can't remember my first event but well remember that unforgettable day when I met Lorna & Phil for the first time - 13th April 2003.

Hi keith and all. Joyce and myself where wondering about a mgf 20 tour of britain type event leading up to the main event.. each region could organise the best route across each region. Members could do the hole tour or take part in just their region as they wish sort of thing. Mgf cannonball run type of thing... even a quick trip to the continent to pick up any euro members.. circuit of the isle of white..

How's Joyce and yourself, it's been a long time ?

We've been mentioning this on our Euro Tours this year, there will be some Europeans coming over for sure.

I would hope for a good show in numbers from our overseas friends for MGF20

As Adrian says we are promoting the event overseas on our travels already :thumbsu:

That was our first event John, Maybe it's time for another Toddington reunion, wonder how many still have F/TF's?

Keith, I've put this one in the diary well in advance, will need a new mug by then for sure!

MGF10 in 2005 was also my first event. I had only just bought the Steppie and found out about the gathering a few days before and decided to come and find out what it was all about........

Hi Keith, I think this is a wonderful opportunity and I just wanted to offer my services if they were of any use to you. I run a small marketing agency so could offer help designing and producing promotional material plus general marketing support if required. Also, my brother was a Longbridge engineer and part of the MGF team. Now retired but still with contacts to other Longbridge engineers, he would be very happy to offer his services and time to help the organising committee if it would be useful. Just let me know if we can assist in any way. Many thanks, Phil

All offers of help are been recorded for future reference so once we get up and rolling with the organising team, I am sure we will be in touch to take up the offers.

Many hands make light work, so the more offer of help we get, the easier the organisation should be :thumbsu:

We still have the 2010 details however in 2015. I would not use the same ferry or French Hotels nor pay a Car Tour Company so much to organise a Ferry Ticket and Hotel Reservation. It would also again include an extended stay in the Swiss Alps before returning.
May have to do a recce when we are over in March 2014.

I've just come back from a excellent run to Lake Garda in Italy, going over the Stelvio and various other passes. Like you, if I were doing it again I would do it differently and spend less time in France and more in the Alps, but the Italian Lakes are a superb destination for some R&R after a long road trip :D And the MGF was a terrific car for the journey. Would love to do it all over again

I vote for the run to Geneva again Dave!!
Essex Roadsters are taking a well earned rest, see Essex MGF for local meets

We may have TWO meetings each month
First Thursday of the month at the Dick Turpin on the A127
and
Third Thursday of the month at the Halfway House on the A127.
