I am pleased to announce that we will be supporting Prostate Cancer UK as our 2017 charity.

Our online charity donation page can be found at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mgfregister2017 where you can donate directly to Prostate Cancer UK and claim Gift Aid if you are a UK tax payer.

The Register and the Regions will be collecting donations at various events throughout the year but the best method to donate is through our charity page as that will allow UK tax payers to gain Gift Aid to boost their personal donations at no cost to yourselves. We loose the Gift Aid option if we do a general collection at events so to ensure the tax man gives us the best deal for the charity, donations made through the charity page is the best method to take the money in.

This year, you can also donate via text ...
You can donate £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 by text, for any other amount you'll need to give online.
eg: To donate £10, text MGFS95 £10 to 70070

Cost of text: All your donation by text will go to Prostate Cancer UK & you may be charged your normal service charge for a text. Within 24 hours you'll receive confirmation by text to let you know the donation has been successful. Included in the confirmation will be a link to an online form. If you have a smartphone, click on the link to claim Gift Aid and/or leave a message. Alternatively, you can copy the link into a web browser on your PC/laptop or tablet and fill the form in there.

A little about Prostate Cancer UK .......

History
The Prostate Cancer Charity was founded in 1996 by Professor Jonathan Waxman to address the 'Outrageous and arbitrary surgical treatment of men'.
We were the first national organisation for prostate cancer in the UK. Our aim was to improve the care and welfare of those affected by prostate cancer, increase investment in research, and raise public and political awareness of a long-neglected disease.
We started small: five members of staff and with our helpline housed in a small room in Hammersmith hospital. It ran one day a week.
We merged with Prostate Action in 2012 and completely rebranded to form Prostate Cancer UK. In the last 20 years, we’ve invested over £37 million into ground breaking research, and continue to provide award-winning support for men.
We have grown in size, strength and influence but our ambition is the same: to put men at the heart of everything we do.

Prostate Cancer UK (formerly known as The Prostate Cancer Charity) is a registered charity in England and Wales (1005541) and in Scotland (SC039332).
