That's the way to do it NeilNeil Rushton wrote:Holiday Inn Rugby booked for the Friday night, may as well make a weekend of it!!!
Steve will be looking after the start - will see you at Millennium Place when you arrive
Simon, think you will need to book your place via Tim as the tickets will be numbered to ensure first applied gets a Millennium Parking place. If you are not doing the run just let us know so Steve does not have to wait for you at the start I will be at Millennium Place from 10:00 if you want to come direct.redbeard57 wrote:would love to join you at the CTM, but it is unlikely that we will be able to do the actual run as we are coming home from scotland on the friday .....can we book parking only please? Re: CTM RUN - First run of the year - 21st February
I am sure we can still fit you in Chris
Steve & I did the run again yesterday. So much for protecting my car from the snow all week. Had left it safely in the garage all week. Sun was out so off we went to recheck the route. I did chicken out on one lane but we did eventually do the full route with 1 foot snow drifts on each side at the roads at times. Took the F where only 4 wheel drives should go. Only lost the back end a couple of times. Steve has plenty of pictures so will have to show some of what you will be missing (all those snow men we saw) when hopefully you do it in the 'sun'

Re: CTM RUN - First run of the year - 21st February
The weather is looking good for Saturday so it seems like we should get some top down motoring done on Saturday assuming the hard tops stay at home.
Two forecasts, the BBC and the Met Office are showing this round bright yellow object (not sure what it indicates ) for Saturday with a temperature of 11ºC. A lot better weather than the last run Steve and myself did with snow on the gound two weeks ago and we did that with the roof down, so no excuses for Saturday
Assembly 9:30 to 10:00. Official start time of run 10:00.
If you fancy a cuppa or snack before the run, the hotel cafe will be open to serve. Just make sure you either leave enough time to eat before the run or ensure you sign in before eating so you can start the run in your own time.

A few pictures from the day http://picasaweb.google.com/kwil35/CTMRun2009#
The cars looked great lined up outside the museum and raised a lot of interest by all the visitors to the museum.

Re: CTM RUN - First run of the year - 21st February
Congrats guys, the Stoneleigh stand stood out, just the best.... The raffle completely slipped my mind (nothing to do with age) The Saturday run very good, took in Naseby battle ground, very thought provoking and then many Warwickshire villages and by ways, lovely scenery. 40 miles top down in pleasant weather. Ended at Coventry Transport Museum, (you will know this if you were there). cars parked in a semi circle outside building. Looked good.
Don't miss this museum in the future, one of the best I have seen. Something for everyone. Cafe of a high standard. The Richard Noble land speed record ( in excess of 800mph ) simulator exciting/breathtaking, very realistic. What imagination to attempt such a thing! Long que, well worth the wait.
Stayed overnight (for those not there again) 40 MG'f'rs, Buffet in an oak panelled dining room. Tables arranged in a hollow square, brillient idea. Food excellent.
Today of course Stoneleigh parts and show. Seemed to me that there was a lot more 'F' second hand stuff around and as usual a lot of bolt on goodies. Managed to buy a short shopping list of trim bits at good prices, sun visor/ariel/light for the under bonnet etc. Lovely bacon roll for brunch. Met many SMS, and 'F' reg folk and Northants MGOC friends.
All in all a great start to the season so to speak. Thanks again to all who put on what turned out to be a very enjoyable weekend.

Re: CTM RUN - First run of the year - 21st February
Just got back to the South Coast. Had a wonderful weekend. Enjoyed Saturday immensely and to round the day off with a meal in the evening in the company of so many fellow Fers was awesome. It was good to meet so many of you and have a chat at the end of an enjoyable day. Big thanks once again from Chris and myself to all those that helped organise the event.
Enjoyed Stoneleigh today. Have to agree the F Register stand was truly eyecatching with the 3 yellow F/TFs.
I've downloaded my photos from the weekend onto the computer but I'm too tired to go through them all now. I'll sort through them tomorrow and post some of my better efforts tomorrow evening.
