There are a few in this thread who are/might be going & I will definately be there with my F but I will be working.

I will be marshalling in the pit lane so please come and look me up as it could be a lonely day like last year otherwise.

They are still trying to hunt down enough marshals to run the event. They don't seem to have enough flag marshals yet - if they don't have the line of sight cover they need, there may no racing!!! It is going to be a touch and go year again I think.

If any one fancies a days marshalling, or even half a day (they must be desparate to offer that) contact Clive in the thread above. Remember you do get a free ticket for the day (actually it is two) if you offer your service in advance and a little something for your help on the day & a nice little Christmas gift later, even if you only marshal for one day in the year :D

The proposed running order for the meeting is as follows:

Race Description Grid size
1 Equipe GTS 36
2 Midget Challenge Race 1+ BCV8 Class’s C & D 32
3 Porsche Club Race 1 26
4 MG Trophy Championship & Cockshoot Cup 33
5 Thoroughbred Sports Cars + BCV8 Class’s A, AB & B 34
6 Peter Best Insurance Challenge 36
7 Power Torque Morgans 27
8 Midget Challenge Race 2 (on their own) 28
9 Porsche Club race 2 26
10 MG Trophy Race 2 (on their own) 20

Grid sizes are looking good. Last minute rush of cars it seems, with a modification to the race list to allow the Midgets and the MG Trophy cars to have a race of their own.

Donington are running very close to the limit to get the required license to run next weeks MGCC Event.

Hopefully, all will be well but people may need to keep and eye on the MGCC or Doningtons website before travelling to the event if things do not go smoothly early next week.

Race Meeting Information
Donington Update. Friday 27th March 18.30 p.m.

A number of you will no doubt be aware that there have been some issues surrounding the issue of a Track Licence by the MSA to Donington following the recent construction works at the Circuit.

As of this afternoon we have been assured by Robert Fearnall, circuit manager for Donington Park Leisure Ltd. that he was 100% confident that the problems relating to the track modifications would be resolved on Monday 30th March. He stated that contractors were on stand by to do whatever was needed to meet the MSA requirements.

We have to accept his assurances and proceed on the basis that the problem will be resolved and hence the Final Instructions and tickets will be mailed out to all competitors over the weekend.

Should matters not progress as we and Donington hope we will advise as soon as is humanly possible. Therefore please watch your email and the this web site since we can update the latter on an immediate basis. I would specifically request that you do not call me directly in this regard as this can prove counter productive at a time when we have less time than usual to complete preparations for this event. As of now we have not banked any of the cheques or processed any credit cards for payment of entry fees and will not do so until we are as certain as we can be that the meeting will take place.

Those competitors who have booked test sessions on the Friday have to take their own decisions at present but on the basis of the Donington assurance they should make the point to Donington that the session is booked on the basis of this assurance.

We very much look forward to seeing you there!

Donington - April 4th
Race Meeting Information
Donington Update. Tuesday 31th March 19:00

FANTASTIC NEWS!

We have just been informed by Robert Fearnall of Donington Park that Colin Hilton, Chief Executive of the Motor Sports Association, will be issuing a temporary circuit licence for the MG Car Club meeting on April 4th and the HSCC meeting on April 5th at the Donington Circuit.

With an average grid of 33 cars out of the permissible 36 for the Clubs races together with the Morgans and 26 for the Porsches this is going to be a superb start to the 2009 season. Don’t miss it!! (Recession? What Recession???).

See you all there.

great day out - not long got in.

Good to bump into Keith. i spotted Gaz Sutton's TF but not him.

The Dreadnought TF was up to the usual Dreadnought standard - looks fantastic! Seemed very quick as well.

Pity David Woods couldn't make it in the other LE500.

Saturday was a great day out if just a little tiring.

Hopefully next year, Donington will be back to 'normal' so things will be better organised. It was just good this year that the racing actually went ahead even if it was at the 11th hour the MSA supplied the circuit license (with conditions).

The LE500 was immaculatly turned out but was slightly rearranged by the start of the last race. One careful owner, only covered a few miles and not on the open road. :thumbsu: Slightly rearranged the front wing but I am sure it will be back looking perfect for the Oulton Park meeting.

Yes, the LE500 had the fastest lap. Keeping up with the ZR's this year :thumbsu:

You can get most of the race timings from http://www.tsl-timing.com/mgcc/2009/91453.pdf

Following on from the 'disorganisation' on Saturday, the timers don't seem to have all the data in the race reports yet!!!

Well don't forget Oulton Park is the next venue for MGCC racing on the 9th May ........... but I will let you off Colin as that is a little far for you to travel :thumbsu:

Reduced price tickets for Oulton Park for MGCC members can now be obtained from the MGCC, see their web site for details.
