Pictures from Pride of Longbridge

Post by adrianclifford » Sat Apr 18, 2009 9:38 pm

It's now quite popular to swop pictures as many have good camera's so I'll start with today's event (make's a change I'm usually last !) If anybody wants any please just ask, if you put your pictures here, please make them available for others to view and obtain.

I hope you enjoy them sorry if you're car is not there.

Well it does take all sorts Pete. It is good we don't all have the same tastes  :D

The picture that I asked 'why oh why?' over was http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2179419 ... host=rides

Very nice car but shame about the plate. Ok, if you are/were in the British South Africa Police, but what would our police make about it?? Distracts the eye too much from the car in my mind. I hope they were just show plates but obviously were used on the road to get to Cofton Park.

Great pics Adrian...love the blue MGF Trophy but then again I'm biased cuz it's mine. Bet you didn't know that a Labrador was in the footwell! :D

By the way this is the last known Trophy made, no 776. I work with an ex MG Rover man who helped make my car. It's taken me a while to get it up to some sort of standard inbetween using it for work everyday. We stripped and scubbed it inside as it was digusting. The wheels are my spare set while I'm refurbing the originals. I have to get the front bumper/wing resprayed as someone made an appalling job covering stonechips  and the hood is temp too. The reg is real and legal (a present off the missus).

Can you send me the pics, 050, 051, 052 please
I have the last known Trophy 160, number 776....yipee!

Hi Duncan, as you may be aware I pay particular attention to the LE models, including Trophy's of course. I would be interested in your info as I have to say that my records show that your vin (...594) is not the last. Of the 1430 built, officially 796 are UK cars but I have details, verified by myself that 798 are UK registered, the last UK one being ...619. Your one is #777 so there are in fact another 21 after yours, then most of the exported cars are higher than that. I also have your car's details from the previous owner (Wendy and with registration OY51BNN).

I'll e mail the pictures, can you leave an e mail address ?

Murray, great shots, your car looks so good against the MG sign at the front of the building.

I must say I was rather surprised and disappointed that there was only one LE500 there.

As I am sure I have mentioned before, considering the Midlands is the 'birth place' of the LE500, there are very few, if any around here in the Midlands. The first one I saw that was not a demo model was racing at Donington and it was a treat to see 3(?) in private hands at Brooklands. The Midlands is the only area that I know of that has lost any of the new MG dealers as well. I believe at least two have dropped the model around here so far. They have just not been taken up around here :(

Keith, that's a bit sad, but I have said before, and nothing has changed yet, I have still not seen one on the road. All 500 are now delivered to dealers with #500 being at Kerridge's.

It happened after you left Stewart, the gent locked his keys in his boot. oopppps!!!!

Luckily a passing RAC van and driver helped him out. Initially it looked like he was going to get a damaged boot for his trouble but after the RAC guy did his magic all seemed well and the boot was open.

You may be right Col, I've been phoning some of the dealers and it's hard to prove one way or the other but there will be some press cars of course, but how many I can't find out. I have been told how many have been sold up to March and all dealers I have sopken to still have a number in stock, even white ones. But I'm not sticking my nose in because I don't feel it's right as sales could be a sensitive issue.

Keith,

There were 6 LE500s at Brooklands: 3 white, 2 red and 1 grey. One of the white ones was a dealer. 3 out of 25 white wasn't a bad showing!
