Thanks John, just wish i'd been able to do it sooner is all.

For those not in the know, i am just about back online now - i moved house on January 6th this year (that's right, in the "worst snow for 30 years"!) but it was supposed to happen on the 22nd December. The developer pressurised us into moving pre-Xmas and to be fair, we were ready, but our buyers weren't - a new date of the 30th December was proposed, but our buyers' solicitor wouldn't come in over the holidays to ensure the money went across (even though everyone else's solicitors were up for it) and thus we moved on the 6th Jan. Although this nearly didn't happen either - a phone call at 6am that morning from our buyer saying that thier removal firm wouldn't move them on the grounds of health and safety due to the snow - there was a real chance that we'd all be in someone else's house with squatters rights! Fortunately they were able to find alternative movers at the last minute (and i'm sure they paid through the nose too!)

The upshot of all this is that my PC has been packed since before Xmas and it is only in the last week or so that it is all fully operational again.

My biggest problem now is that SF has the hardtop fitted (for the move), i have no where to store it here (yet, rack is still to be hung from the garage roof) and SF's boot is literally full of tools (suspension is pretty low! :o ). These are relatively minor issues though - i may leave the hardtop and swap it onto Emma's F on the day when i pick her up. Tools will need to have a home found for them fairly soon though - i'll use twice the fuel if i do the run with all that dead weight in the boot!

Seems like you lot have taken the run on though in my absence - i'm very impressed, well done people. :D

Put me down for a South Mimms start. I have had the most ghastly cold since before Christmas and she who must be obeyed has said there is no chance of me being allowed to play outside unless I am completely well. Popped something in the kitty just in case. It will be a busy week with a 36th wedding anniversay, the ACR and then NZ Day on the 6th. We will be expecting the NZ National anthem to be played on all car audio systems on the stroke of midnight! (And no, it is NOT Waltzing Matilda!).

Just for you Murray and 'she that must be obeyed!!!' and of course Dave & Carol (the UK Kiwis!) and YES I do have the music version!!

God Defend New Zealand / Aotearoa

God of Nations at Thy feet,
In the bonds of love we meet,
Hear our voices, we entreat,
God defend our free land.
Guard Pacific's triple star
From the shafts of strife and war,
Make her praises heard afar,
God defend New Zealand.
Men of every creed and race,
Gather here before Thy face,
Asking Thee to bless this place,
God defend our free land.
From dissension, envy, hate,
And corruption guard our state,
Make our country good and great,
God defend New Zealand.
Peace, not war, shall be our boast,
But, should foes assail our coast,
Make us then a mighty host,
God defend our free land.
Lord of battles in Thy might,
Put our enemies to flight,
Let our cause be just and right,
God defend New Zealand.
Let our love for Thee increase,
May Thy blessings never cease,
Give us plenty, give us peace,
God defend our free land.
From dishonour and from shame,
Guard our country's spotless name,
Crown her with immortal fame,
God defend New Zealand.
May our mountains ever be
Freedom's ramparts on the sea,
Make us faithful unto Thee,
God defend our free land.
Guide her in the nations' van,
Preaching love and truth to man,
Working out Thy glorious plan,
God defend New Zealand.

Hi John. Who is Gold FM and where are they based?

It is good to have publicity for the run but we still need to keep control of the event by having people register either here or on .org as we can't have a mass turn out on the night or we could be out of the stipulations of the MSA certificate.

Keith makes a very good point about the MSA certificate and has done so in a number of previous posts. I think we need to be squeaky clean on this event as it would be so easy to lose it for future years if we mess up in any way.

It would be a crying shame if this event had to be withdrawn because of an infraction of the rules as, aside from being great fun, is a big earner for the F Register's charity each year.

This is in danger of becoming a victim of it's own success if we're not careful.

Thanks John. Have contacted Ally our PR officer to see if she knows anything about them. I am just a little concerned that we do not want the event gate crashed by to many people not in MGF/TF's who have not registered which would invalidate our MSA certificate and ruin it for everyone. If it is being publicised correctly all will be OK.

As per Keiths post - it seems that someone has been doing my job for me!! Whilst well meaning, I would respectfully request that if anyone has a particular radio station/newspaper/0other media source in mind, that you contact me, rather than doing it yourself. There is a media plan in place, and we need to stick to it, both for our own safety and enjoyment of the run, and to avoid irritating the press - who really hate being approached by different people all publicising the same event
