Hi Boys,
I’ve purchased a second hand BCU/SCU, I’ve installed it and its cured all the issues i wanted it for (window not dropping, no fog lights and no horn). But after changing it, the central locking still does not work (it didn’t before) and the car won’t start. Do I need to marry it to the ECU or something else? And does it control the central locking or does something else?
ANY IDEAS, if I’ve changed the SCU and subsequently the key fob to match does this mean that the key fob needs pairing with a transponder? If so how is it done?
why wont my baby start

The SCU and ECU operate on a rolling code system and they need to be synchronised with each other.
If this isn't done, you wont be able to disarm the immobiliser, hence why the car wont start.
I wouldn't have though it would have prevented the central locking working though, so that may be a separate issue.
There are some online companies who you can post your ECU/SCU and fobs to, and they will re-sync them.
Alternatively an MG specialist (and some Land Rover dealers/specialists) can also do it if they have a 'Testbook' computer.
