I have just heard from the organisers of the Coventy Festival of Motoring and I am afraid to say with with financial cut back, the event has been canceled. Their major supporter has pulled out so funding is not available to put on the show. Last year they had 40,000 visitors to the weekend and they say even if they charge for admission, the ticket price would need to be too high just to break even. As it was also funded through the council tax, I suppose cuts have to be made.

I don't know if the cancellation has anything to do with another major motor weekend planned for Coventry - Coventry Motorfest http://coventrymotofest.com/ on the 29/30/31st May. This event is not one we can visit as a club as their classic car requirement is 20 years or more but it might be worth a visit as a spectator to see what it is all about. Motor racing on the Coventry ring road - has to be worth a look I think.

An Event that we have previously attended was the Coventry Air Museum Open Day.
The Museum was to be disbanded with the Planning Application for a large Business Park. Warwickshire CC chose to keep the Green Belt stopping the Urban Spread of Coventry into the County so the Museum has been ressurected and renamed The Classic Airforce.
They are having a Vintage Air Display on May 2nd.
