Hi, having just bought my first MG TF 1.8CC 03 plate, I thought this looked like a good site for help and advice.
I have put my car in for a respray and service, and hope to have it on the road in the next two weeks. I am based just outside Evesham and look forward to hearing from you guys.

Welcome!.... probably a bit quiet on here at the moment.... quite a few are either at Silverstone for MGLive, on their way there or, like us last minute packing before heading off first thing in the morning.... hope you have many hours of happy and safe driving in your TF.

Hi, Welcome to the register hope your re spray goes well [ TF needing a re spray ? ] You have put 18cc did you mean vvc as there are 2 engines [1800] one has more power than the other. Variable Valve Control is more powerful

Hi the V5 shows 1796cc? The respray was needed due to some poor attempts to cover stone chips and minor dinks using a mis matched spray can. I will post a photo once its done.

Yes but there are 2 1800 cc engines one as a V V C system which will NOT show on the log book

Look under the front bonnet and if you don't have anything on the left hand side just a square plate then you have an mpi

If you do have something on the LH Side (Brake Servo Unit) eh RH side as direction of travel, then it does not mean it is a VVC. The BSU was an option on the MPI and fitted to VVC and Steptronic as Standard.
Look at the camshaft cover.

If you look at the engine from through the access grill in the boot you will see the cover over the cambelt on the right as you look at it.

At the opposite end of the engine, over the gearbox, the VVC has another belt cover, the non VVC doesn't.

Can anyone recommend a good garage in Worcestershire to carry out a head gasket change. I had a quote for £350 from a mobile guy but he doesnt do the midlands
