MG Race day at Castle combe

Not as full MG race meeting but the Peter Best Insurance Challenge/Metros and the MGCC BCV8 Championship will be there.

See you Alan in either in the pub Friday night or in the car park at the start on Saturday morning. I am travelling down Friday & taking the pretty route. Looks unlikely for a roof down run but might be lucky. Weather is not looking too promising but the BBC say the Saturday might be 'nice'. Looks like we will get wet - it is just the level that seems uncertain at the moment.

Hope to see a few more from the midlands down there as this is the last main meet of the year

Anyone off to Ashby tomorrow night?

Anyone know what the weather has been like in that area? I know it has been more than a little bad else where and as they use the cricket ground for the show it might effect if the car show is on or not?

The forecast is heavy rain all day, I am not sure that I am going to be able to make it anyway due to work commitments.

I will play it by ear I think for Ashby and see what the day brings tomorrow. Would like to go, so will be prepared to go straight from work but may chicken out if the weather is too bad all day.

An additional very late addition to the September events - This Wednesday 10th - evening pub meet at The Bull Inn, Weston under Wetherby, CV33 9BP. Kjeld who some of us met on the Swedish Viking trip is visiting Techspeed for some work on his car and will be in the pub for a meal and a few drinks. We met up again at the Welsh weekend. Anyone else fancy a night out see you down there?

Spoke to Kjeld at the weekend and said I would try and pop over to the Bull for a drink on Wednesday.

Doubt I will be going over to Ashby tomorrow night though unless the weather improves dramatically.

It sounds like Ashby Foville could be off due to the ground being so not so much wet as under water due to having the best part of Septembers normal rain fall over the weekend. I was talking to someone at work who lives that way and they were saying it's quite bad.

Cheers for that Chris. I will give it a miss then. My luck is not going well with cars shows anyone so if it was not water logged something else would have gone wrong.

Is a shame to have missed the car show 'this year' but there is always next year. Have to make sure its on the calendar early next year. Shame to miss it too, as we may have had visitors from a far to the event if it had been on as Sean & Claire mentioned in Wales that as they were travelling around on their holidays they might have called into it to say 'Hi' before heading back home. Have let them know it is off as they have made it to Wolverhampton today - I suspect at some MGF Centre having an new roof fitted

Spoke to Lime Garage, Warwick this afternoon. They still have not had confirmation of when they will have cars delivered. They will let me know when they do. Could be worth a visit prior to the 'fire and ice' event if they actually do get any cars in.
