'HIGHLANDER 2013'

Image

After much debate, consideration and canvassing the regulars I have been persuaded that for 2013 the HIGHLANDER will go west.

Argyll and the West Highlands have amazing scenery and great roads but tends to feature a damper climate so you have been warned!

The Date: Friday 3rd May to Monday 6th May 2013

The Venue: The Arrochar Hotel, located unsurprisingly in Arrochar at the top of Loch Long.
Sat Nav info. Arrochar Hotel, Loch Lomond, Arrochar, Argyll and Bute, G83 7AU.
Tel: 08444 146 514 Fax: 08444 146 513
http://www.oxfordhotelsandinns.com/OurHotels/Arrochar

The Location: http://g.co/maps/4668w

The Cost: £45 per person per night for dinner, bed & breakfast. (single room supplement £15) NB: there is a reservation deposit of £25 per room payable upon booking. When booking, mention MG Car Club.
Please book early to avoid disappointment and it also helps us to plan & promote the event

My wife and I want to come along to this :thumbsu:

I've registered with the MGCC, and paid , via the link but on phoning the hotel was advised that it is closed and to try again tomorrow :?

If you try to book online you get the following;
"Unfortunately, there are no rates available for this hotel for the week commencing Friday 03 May 2013
Please try searching for Friday 10 May 2013
Can't find what you're looking for? Why not give our call centre a ring where a member of our friendly, dedicated team will be happy to assist you!
Book online and save with our best available rates.0844 815 9833"

...not what I was expecting but I'll try again tomorrow and let you know how I get on ;) . Must be a slower pace of life "north of the border"

Just a quick post to let you all know we are still alive and well in the northern regions.

The HIGHLANDER is only a six weeks away now :o and the routes are 95% sorted, :thumbsu: I just need to make a few small alterations then I can get them posted up for you to feast your eyes on the great roads in the West of Scotland. I should have the alterations complete within the next 48 hours, so pop back in here, have a look and get booked! :D

Looking forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks :D

HIGHLANDER 2013 - ROUTES

The routes below have been sent to the F Register Chairman for approval who has sent them to the MSA for approval and insurance purposes. The routes are the 'planned' routes, however in previous years the Register and MSA have always gone with the planned routes therefore I am confident of posting these. Alterations, if any will be minimal.

I suggest looking through the routes and entering them in you SAT NAVS as 'multi stops' or 'via points' etc.

The Routes:
Saturday AM; http://goo.gl/maps/4EExB
The Clan Campbell Run. From Arrochar to Campbelltown, through Argyle, the ancestral home of Clan Campbell.

Saturday PM; http://goo.gl/maps/w3zBh
The Clan Campbell Run. Returning to Arrochar via a different route.

Sunday AM; http://goo.gl/maps/CylLu
The Atlantic Crossing Run. Via Loch Awe, over the Atlantic via the Clachan Bridge onto the Isle of Seil.

Sunday PM; http://goo.gl/maps/nvICf
The Atlantic Crossing Run. Retuning via Oban and Loch Lomond.
