Trip to Scotland

Another question: How common is it to pay with credit card (Mastercard)? As in germany i won't have a problem at petrol stations, but restaurants, supermarkets, etc. won't always accept them, the prefer ec-card (electronic-cash) or cash. Are there enough ec/maestro-cashpoints?

You won't have a problem with credit/debit cards the Scots have got taking money off you in any shape or form down to a fine art!!!!
You'll enjoy the area around Gairloch, we've been up there in May for a couple of years, if you have time go for a walk at Gruinard Bay north of Gairloch lovely place.
