Darn Spanish have realiesed they should use security on their home wifi set ups, only managed to get on line a couple of times through unlocked set ups and managed to break someones security but they obviously had set their PC to not allow others to access the internet through their machine.

I found a couple of large establisments with wifi networks but they were so slow on the smartphone I gave up.

In the end we spent E30 on a dongle from Carrefour which seems to be working okay and at only E1 a day is quite cheap to use, shame I am about to log off and come home, 750 miles and 27 hours till the ferry sails, perhaps it'll be the Yorkshire coast and vodafone next time.

Thanks - at about the 300 mile marker one of the rear tyres was looking low so I added some air, 20 miles later it had gone flat and slit! Luckly we were only 1km from a rest area (parking and a "hole in the ground" loo) so at 1am we emptied the boot which had lots of loose jars and cans of Spanish delicacies shoved every where to get out the bycicle tyre they call a space saver and cruised the rest of the way accross france at 57mph, saved a tank of fuel but my god, was it boring, especially as I'm used to playing with the Germans in the early hours when the roads are clear.

Even so we managed 4 hours sleep, 3 hours at Citieurope and still got an earlier ferry.

Yes, I am on the right site being an F owner, that one >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

We were in the ZS, can't get 2 adults, 1 teen and an octengerian in our F while in Spain or enough luggage for 10 days and a years supply of tinned\jar spanish delicacies on the way back.

wifi-wlan-access to that new fangled interweb fishing net thing.

We did have CD in the F when we got it but no code so she currently wears an old Rover H/U.

I'd love to do the continent in the F but we need to be able to carry my M-in-L when in Spain.

Ho Ho like the BBQ idea, and I have copious quantities of beverage of the bubbly kind!

Just back from France (Epernay) in TF. Calculated that I could bring back 4 cases of Champagne, so bought said 4 cases. Fitted fine, but our hosts then donated another case plus 6 bottles of vino delecto! By careful packing of shoes and other small items under the bonnet and putting more than possible in the case on the boot rack, I got the extra case of C in boot. Good thing Carol's got short legs as the remaining 6 bottles of vino went behind her seat! ;)

Weather inconsistent. Going west to east it was overcast/showery, so roof up. Rest of time variable sun/overcast/rain. Return east to west in brilliant sunshine, roof down, using back roads not motorways etc. Proper F type motoring. Result fantastic sun tan on left half of face etc whilst the right side stayed white - not a pretty sight.....!!

Car turned heads and received favourable remarks where ever we went. Sitting in car waiting to disembark from ferry (roof down, natch) we were accosted by a gentleman who wished to check we are members of the Car Club and have a chat. He has a 1954 TF at home - just shows that 'the Marque of Friendship' is alive and well, and that not all 'old' MG owners believe that modern MGs are not part of the family.

Life signs returning slowly..............................

That's good - I was beginning to wonder if I might need this here defibrillator
which is stored next to the fire extinguisher and the jump-leads.

The thing about MG owners is their unlimited ability to improvise where the
carriage and consumption of alcoholic beverages is concerned.

I am very impressed with your ingenuity. :D

I will be Up North at the beginning of next month, to visit family and spend a few days on my own
in Whitby - the better to blow away the cobwebs of enforced incarceration Down South over the last
few weeks.

If I could have managed two such trips I would have - believe me - and I envy you all the fun you must have had.
However, the season for hospital appointments is now upon us, and the next 2 or 3 months will be spent dodging round them
in order to grab a bit of fun while it's there.

Let me know next year's dates, and I shall endeavour to make myself available. :D

Can you tell I spent the WHOLE weekend reading Jane Austen ? It does wonders for my grasp and use of
our dear mother tongue !

This coming week it will be Robert Louis Stevenson, so dinnae fash yersel if'n ye cannae ken whit ah'm saying
next weekend.
