Trouble that boy!
If you like a good carvery, lots of well cooked food and cheap. It was £6.59 a head on a Sunday earlier this year - deserts £2.80 if I remeber rightly. Bar prices are good too. You can't book and you don't need to - its noisey and some of the tables could do with some TLC, but worth a visit. Its called the Alma Inn, Lower Upham. Loads of parking too. Now where's me frock...

Listen sonny - some of us don't have private jets to whisk us away on a whim.Charless wrote:Antigua?
And if we did, some of us might prefer St Kitts.
Enjoy your vacationette - let's hope the weather stays good for you.

Your frock is in the wardrobe where you left it after that shameful episode at
The Secret Policeman's Other Ball.
It will probably need cleaning.

Sorry Ruth can't make it - only available Sunday for a family lunch before Xmas as we are all going in different directions on the 25th. Would have thought the Bear and Ragged Staff Nr Romsey would have been better for you - if you have any takers.

Yes indeed Bob - the Bear is a good option....I could drive there with my eyes closed.

Any takers ?

Re: Those of us NOT going to the Doghouse.....
The option of a Sunday meet at the end of November was discussed at the last Buck's Head meet but it soon became clear that the majority of us were unavailable for one reason or another (Rome, Antigua, Telford) so it was pretty much abandoned.
The following week is the MGF Register Xmas Natter at the Dog House, so again for some of us that puts us out of the game.
Much beyond that and we're in to the festive silly season when people have enough on their plates (quite literally) without another date for their diaries.
If there is enough takers I'm happy to sort something out for that dead zone between Xmas and New Year when, I don't know about you guys but I'm going stir crazy and desperately need to get out of the house whilst avoiding the shops.

Re: Those of us NOT going to the Doghouse.....
Well, chuck - I will be Up North for Christmas from the 23rd, but will be
back Down South and on my own from the 28th December.
So if Cabin Fever strikes, I will be more than happy to meet up
with the similarly afflicted at that time - and a ginger ale (with ice and lime)
and a packet of crisps or two will be an elegant sufficiency.
So there we are.

I'll bear that in mind, Ruth.
