Hi, posted on the 'old' board as well, not sure which one people are reading so appologies for the repeat...

I'm new on this board, but have been knocking about on mg-rover.org forum for a while and recognise a few names.

I'm thinking of popping over on the day to say hi, I've negotiated time with my wife as she'll be at home looking after the kids...

I've only been to one event (MGFest) and don't really know the score with these sort of meets so any advice appreciated.

I've got an F VVC in Grey (not unlike Maxines) with a few darkside bits.

Hopefully I'll see you all next Sunday

Hi Nick and welcome!

You're already on the list... At the moment, I'm still monitoring both forums closely, until the old one closes for new posts at the end of the week. All the lists for meeting, events, etc. are up to date here.

Looking forward to welcoming you 'officially' to SmS on Sunday. ;)

Rich.

Hi Dave,

You should know that meetings just aren't the same when you're not there! :?

It was a good turn-out, but not quite to last month's record breaking standards. However, it was nice to have our guests Sean, Claire & Jon from EAMGF and Soo & Andy from Herts Wheels. We also welcomed two new members, Nick (nicktg) from Daventry (MGF VVC, Anthracite like Stewarts) and Mark from Milton Keynes (MGTF 160, LeMans Green).

I didn't take many photos as I think we've got enough line-ups on the website, but did take a few for future profiles that may be appearing soon. Also, I showed off the regalia and put the new SmS magnets on the car!

So that's a bit more advertising... That Sean is a clever chap!

Oh yeah, and we've exceeded our minimum bookings for the Xmas Bash already! :thumbsu:

Rich.

P.S. This was the last time meeting at the Toby Carvery... Moving over the road to the Harvester for the December meeting (NOT the Xmas bash!)... Watch out for a posting later and details on the website once we've done the Oxford meeting...

Nice one Rich 8-) Do we all get the new magnets?

Great news on the numbers for the Xmas Bash :thumbsu:

Why the change of venue for the monthly meets?

Spoiler and splitter now fitted :D 8-) and a new pic will be taken for my new avatar

Hi Dave,

Long time... No Speak!

Anyone who wants the magnets can order them. They've been advertised on the SmS website for nearly a month now! ;)

The reason for the change of venue is that as we approach the winter season, we'll be moving inside rather than standing around the cars for the whole meeting and the Toby doesn't really cater for more than about 10 people sitting in a small group. Also, the fact that they only sell coffee and soft drinks until 12noon and the food menu is limited had an influencing factor too. The options over at the Harvester are far wider, the seating is much better and the manager was thrilled for the opportunity to welcome us. We need to try it out and see how things go. If it proves that we're no better off, we'll either go back over to the Toby or find somewhere else through suggestions from the members. Of course, it's hoped we can do a few more in the other parts of the region, as we are doing in November (Cheers Stewart!).

Looking forward to seeing the photos of your car with the 'extras'. I can imagine it's transformed it's looks! :thumbsu:
