Help Required from A South Mids-ter!

Post by Fast Jan » Tue Nov 20, 2007 1:57 pm

Hi All

I've been looking to buy a Yellow TF 160 and have found what sounds to be a good buy in South Northants and I wondered if someone from here might be able to have an initial look at it on my behalf rather than me travel up from South Wales only to find it a complete lemon!

The car is in Woodford Halse about 20 mins from Daventry.

Obviously I wouldn't be asking who ever went to make any decisions on my behalf, just give it a once over and offer an opinion.

Many Thanks in advance :)

Hi Fast Jan,

It's a bit of a distance for me, so hopefully someone else in SMS will be willing to volunteer, but if not, then I could perhaps look on Wed evening, although it's obviously not best to check a car out in the dark! Anyway, I'll check back to see if you get any volunteers!

Hi Jan,

I might be able to have a look tomorrow as I'm working in Towcester. Where is the car exactly? Is it a trader or private and would I be able to look at it during the day?

Rich.

Cheers guys offers much appreciated, shame it was wrong place at wrong time!!

Car is private sale - its in Banbury during the daytime and at Woodford Halse evenings/weekends.

Is anyone else in/around either of these areas over next couple of days?

I might be able to pop past tomorrow on my way back from work around 5:30 ish , I've got an F so I don't know much about the TF suspension, but I can do the checks for HGF mayo, panels, electrics, exhaust etc...I'll also let you know if the front bumper is in one piece  might take my camera too...

Drop me a message / details via the .org board as my inbox on here seems to be playing up (ie messages have dissapeared)

Jan, I can help you out on Saturday if the car is available for viewing.

I can't make before as I don't have a driveway at the moment as it and the whole front of the house is all dug up and being blocked so we can get all of our (four) cars on there.

Let me know if I can help, the car needs a good run as it's been locked up all week :( .

Many thanks for the offer Adrian it is much appreciated, however I think I should be ok now - all being well Nick is going to give it a once over for me after work tonight.

If all appears ok with it I am hoping to get up there myself either tomorrow or Saturday for a viewing and a drive :)

Are you going to swop over all of your nice new bits from the current car ?

I most certainly am :D

There's quite a lot of bits to swap though so it may take me a while, but it'll give me something to do over winter while there's less runs to go on!
