£2k-£3k- really difficult to tell without getting up close and behind the wheel of it.
A really good place to start would be Rob Bell's site and the buyer's guide:
http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/
I viewed an 80th anniversary in Sept last year- 64k miles, black, 2 owner car and immaculate inside and out for £2750- didn't buy it though- went for a TF160 instead...

'02 TF 160 - an Original MG Rover Group Press Car...and still lookin' sharp!
Bilstein Shocks, Z&F Remap, B&G Coolant Alarm, Glass Rear Screen, Braided Hoses, Bling-free at the moment...but that'll probably change

What price? simple really buy a car on history and condition (remember even absolute dogs can look stunning in photo's), what you can afford and you are happy to pay.
MG's from the MG/Rover period are worth silly money now, so if you pay more than average insure it on an agreed value policy.
Good luck in the search.
