First MGF and really impressed but a few nigles

Hi, live in Aberdare. Just got my first MG, a 96 MGF. Really impressed, just a few problems with paintwork and speedo cable I think. Biggest problem is that is sounds like a VW beetle when accelerating. Not sure if it's exhaust, or gasket problem. Are there any MG friendly garages in south wales, or even better are there any members who I could talk to who could give me advice about servicing and keeping my car in tip top condition??
