Mechanic Recommendations

Post by ArjayUK » Tue Jan 06, 2015 9:45 am

Hi everyone, I am new to the Cambridge area so I am looking for a recommendation. I have had my '99 MGF for 4 months, and after ~6,000 miles I seem to have broken the gearbox.
- Has anyone else suffered something similar?
- Is it something that is economically viable to get repaired?
- Finally, as I am new to the area, does anyone have any recommendations for a mechanic that could take a look at the car.

Thanks
Jay

I haven't used them but the MGOC Workshop is in Swavesey.

They do have a good reputation and you can't get much closer to Cambridge.

But before you start spending money it'll be worth throwing up a thread in the technical section to see if we can get a rough diagnosis.

Both great recommendations. Thanks.

And yes, MGOC is just down the road from where I am, so can't get much more local than that.
